The MAking of an 8×8 Album

So, I told you I was going to make some changes. Well it’s not that easy you know. Not only do you need paper, and embellishments, time, inspiration, all of the fabulous tools and goodies on the market, but finally, it all comes down to having to have pictures! I have tons of those…in fact I think I have probably have a good 5000-7000 of them sitting in folders here on this laptop of mine…but well you know, they have to be perfect, not all horizontal, and not all vertical…errr..

I was beginning to feel overwhelmed and had to remind myself a number of times to stop, focus and it’s okay. The whole premise of this scrapbook hobby is to create and document, not purchase and hoard. I am not a designer with a graphic designer degree under my belt. My family does not financially depend on the quality or number of pages that I create, and I do not have time to recreate the wheel. And I have to say, it is a damn good thing that my family does not rely on an income related to me scrapbooking–well, you know, with me being a procrastinator and all.

I remembered that I had some photos of Toni and her friend Amanda and decided even tho the colors are not a perfect ‘match’, our homemade photo shoot would look much cuter inside of a book than in an envelope tucked under a mound of stuff.

Right page:

Each page will be a little bit different and will have a different style of this companies paper on them. Nothing earth shattering. Quick and Easy and as painless as possible. And it’s okay.

While looking through the envelope full of their little ‘photoshoot’ snapshots I decided that I will leave each page empty of journaling so that Toni can journal her memories of cheering on the pages. Because there are so many photos of this day, I have decided that I am going to create a 12×12 double page layout of some of these photos to add to our Family Album.

I will share pages as I create them.

In the revamping of my blog I’ve lost some links. If you don’t see your link there or if you are interested in exchanging links with me please leave a comment.
