Mojo Monday & Outside my front door

Everyday Life,RN Journey,Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping | Monday 23 February 2009 7:31 am

Mojo Monday #75 Again I grabbed scraps out of my scrap bucket.

JBP2009

No school today due to this blizzard. Kind of happy, because now I have an extra week to study for our Psychiatric exam that we were suppose to have today, but on the other hand I just want it off my back.

So…here’s a peek outside my front door, 12-14 inches of snow, and it’s still snowing…yeah, bleh!

JBP2009

Here’s to a wonderful Monday. I’m going to relax and think I’ll do some reading to prep for Thursdays lecture: Renal Failure. Until later…

Life

Everyday Life,RN Journey | Sunday 22 February 2009 6:35 pm

…has gotten in my way and I’ve neglected my blog. This week went by quickly. Too quickly. I didn’t feel very good for a majority of this school vacation, and I allowed that procrastination monster to creep into my studying plans. But–I won, and have officially read all, oh…500 pages in this Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing textbook. Ahhh. {insert the sound of angels singing here}. I am ready for this exam tomorrow. Get’er done is my philosophy right now.

Nikki and I studied yesterday then decided to go shopping together at the mall. Shopping is a little difficult for me as I cannot wear ‘flare’ legs {I don’t like the feel of them}. I am a bootcut girl, and I’ll be darned that bootcut is few and far inbetween. Love, Love, Love New York & Company, just wish they had bootcut trousers!! Err.

I want to squeeze this series into my life…just don’t know how/or where. Seriously, I am dreaming about summer sun, warmth, and a good book with no nursing school obligations…shhhh, don’t wake me from my dream!

JBP2009

I’m going to put my nose in the books for a few more minutes of last minute prepping for tomorrows exam, so until tomorrow, here’s to passing tomorrows Psych exam, and to a wonderful week!

Snowy Thursday

Everyday Life | Thursday 19 February 2009 4:02 pm

Looking out my front door this is the view.

JBP2009

Bleh.

Along with this snowy day, it’s been a lazy day. Catnapping on the couch in between watching some television and reading from my textbook.

Well, this is going to be my rambling for Thursday. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be a little more exciting and more upbeat.

FRiends and Flowers

Everyday Life,Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping | Wednesday 18 February 2009 6:41 pm

I received a phone call bright and early this morning from one of my girlfriends– filled with excitement, she told me that her boyfriend had asked her to marry her last night. I am so excited for her.

Such wonderful news to begin my day with.

JBP2009

I decided to make her a special card, and ran to the store and picked up a small bouquet of flowers for her…damn, you know what I just remembered!? I forgot to varify with her that I am in deed her ‘flower girl’ {lol, it’s a joke I have with my single girlfriends}.

JBP2009

I was busy today. I was able to tackle a few things on my running to-do list, had an appointment out of town, took Matthew around to pick up some applications {he wants a job so badly, but prospects for a job didn’t look very good today}, visited my sister and most favorite nephew  Bryce, small grocery shopping and even fumbled around my art studio cleaning up some of my messes that I made in there.

New day tomorrow, and I have to put my nose into my Psych book and lecture notes.  Oh yeah, and that math.

I hope your day has been a great one! Until tomorrow-

Closer to waking-UP

Everyday Life | Tuesday 17 February 2009 6:25 pm

PHew. What a day yesterday was. I was really beginning to think that I had entered a deep depression. I slept a majority of yesterday away. During my awake moments I felt like I couldn’t even think straight. Well, I woke up this morning thinking about this and what was I going to do if this continued. I have reading and studying to do and can’t spend my vacation sleeping.

While standing at the breakfast table waiting for my water to boil for my morning cup of coffee I spied the culprit that made me sleep most of yesterday away…

JBP2009

Yeah, ummm…I never noticed that they were Tylenol PM yesterday when I took ohh..a couple too many. Oops. The proof of the importance of checking, and rechecking those labels!

Lazy day today, obviously not as lazy as yesterday. I was able to make some process on my Psych reading, prepping for my exam on Monday…it’s all good.

MOnday Ramblings, plus Monday Mojo

Everyday Life,RN Journey | Monday 16 February 2009 9:14 am

It’s a new week and I have much to do, and per usual it evolves around nursing school. BLeh. Having some difficulties with Nursing math, Monday is exam #1 for Psych class, and I want to get antianxiety drugs under my belt this week. Somewhere in the middle of this madness I want to find myself up in that attic. I am determined to pull that floor together and surprise goodwill with a truck load. We bought some huge plastic totes some time ago so we’re good to go.

With it being a new week I want to talk about weight. I need to get myself focused as I really want to get down to my personal goal prior to graduation. I’ve been doing some searches and thought I would share some of the bits and pieces with you.

To begin, you should know what your BMI is. A ‘normal’ BMI is 18.5-24.9. My BMI is presently 24. My goal weight would put me at a BMI of 21. Within the normal BMI range, so all is good there.

To simplify things for us we need to know how many calories we are eating daily to maintain the weight that we are right now: Calorie Calculator once you have a number change the weight to your goal weight and subtract the two numbers together, and yep, that is the number of calories you need to remove from your daily intake per day to get you where you want to go.

All about FOOD! Portion Distortion. There are two slides, you do not need to download, simply click on view online. Helps put things into perspective, and don’t forget you need to be conscious of serving sizes, located at the top right. Print out and hang on your fridge.

While we’re talking about food–what is sabotaging you? I have one little friend that is sabotaging me. It is my new found friend that stands beside me during my stressful/anxious moments, GASP!! it scored a D+, I guess the ‘good’ part is there is no cholesterol in it, but look at those carbs! Man. So, I’m talking to myself and I am determined to get where I want to be weight wise, and this guy, just isn’t my friend, not to mention, expensive!

I also have to share, The Daily Plate with you. I love this site.

And of course, don’t forget that 30 minutes a day of exercise, and here we go!! Weigh in next week. Ready, set…we can do this!

It’s Mojo Monday Week 74 and here is my first Mojo Monday creation. Again, simple and I used scraps. I found this great challenge blog this weekend, and hoping that I can begin to join in every Monday.

JBP2009

Here’s to a wonderful week friends!
