Saturday Doldrums and total Random talk–

Everyday Life | Saturday 21 March 2009 6:45 pm

In a nutshell, that is basically how I have felt  today–just throw in a killer headache that came out of nowhere and that’s my day today. Ugh. To top it off, I did a resume search and found a site that I thought looked good–created my resume and hit the print button, and guess what? Yeah, it was not a free site, and to print my resume it would have cost $9.95. Talk about totally pissing me off! Guess that’ll teach me to not pay close enough attention.

Because sometimes we need a little reminder…How do you start the day?

My girlfriend Wendy and I went shopping together this afternoon and had a great time together. She is such a hoot, but dang, she is a horrible back-seat driver! I guess I made her a bit nervous a few times, lol.

Simple Living thoughts– Shortly after I found out I lost my job I started looking at ways to cut down household spending more, and coupons was one of them. I did searches, upon searches, upon searches–hours upon hours. What did I find? That it is a sport. A sport that I am not interested in for many reason. Did you know that 47% of coupons are for non-food items, with most coupons issued for cleaning supplies. Visiting a lot of the blogs that I found related to couponing, I found three things in common–gluttony and a whole lot of processed foods and empty calories. Obviously this is coming from the perspective of an East Coast Mainers opinion of no double couponing and limited grocery chains. I’ll continue using my coupons for my Crest and Secret deodorant and when the foods that we eat are on sale price, I’ll take advantage and stock up and call it good. And, on a serious note, I am relieved to know that Millionaire’s are frugal just like the rest of us…well, kinda…and serious, is that really Bill Gates living room? Cause that isn’t too frugal looking to me! lol

And while speaking about money…I am about to work on my two-year goal for finances, and two-year goals for life. One of the plans is to finish the house and put it up for sale. I found this great link and thought I would share, Frugal Ideas to Help Your Home Sell. I am anxious to sell our home, and move out of this town and state. Ton’s of options, no firm decisions as of yet…but I have a feeling it will be in close proximity to warmth!!

If you are thinking about putting your student loans in Forbearance, this link is worth the moment to read…interesting! And if you have a  Vegetable garden on your mind like I do, take a gander at this gorgeous, gorgeous garden that I am drooling over!! Oh, and does anyone know why they would put the terra cotta pots upside down on some of the posts?

Good intentions…

April 1st is my date to begin my walking regimine again!! I was walking 10 miles per day, and my plans are by the end of April to be walking 15 miles per day. My iPod is ready, just need the weather and my body to cooperate with my plans. Part ll of my plans are to be running come May.

Well, I’ve rambled on, and on, have  a lot more to say, and a lot more to share, but well, I’ll save them for other rambling random days. Take care friends, and until tomorrow..

Great goals for you! Just be a snowbird and leave in the winter…Maine and New England really are beautiful. Especially if you’re near the coast. Just think of the diamonds sparkling on the water in the early morning. I wish I were there now….

There have been times where my wife and I have considered taking what we can get for our place and moving somewhere warm and starting over! I guess a big part of it is fear and the fact that we do have decent jobs right now. Sometimes not having a job can be a great motivator to do something different.

Thanks for the mention and good luck with your place!
