I see Paris and Fairies and Cuttlebugs!!

Everyday Life,Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping | Thursday 26 March 2009 12:57 pm

How can it be Thursday already? Man, the days just seem to fly by!

Wanna see a few new goodies?

Sharon surprised me with a super heavy box filled with wonderful goodies!!

Love everything!! Especially the sizzix SU! die {yes, I practically jumped up and down when I put this baby in my hands}, and love the charm bracelet with the Paris theme {I cannot wait until our trip to Paris!!}

Here are a few of the goodies that my mom gave me the other day. Aren’t the stamps just beautiful! Interestingly I don’t have many rubberstamps like these. The rubberstamps that I have are all quotes/word theme practically. Which makes sense as I wasn’t creating cards prior to a few weeks ago.

Yep, I did it–I brang a cuttlebug home with me, and I am in LOVE!! I ordered the Nestabilities, Label One, along with the Sizzix Scrap Pink Kit, and cannot wait for them to arrive.

Well, I have so much that I really should be doing, so for here I am going to run along. Until tomorrow-

Nursing School Graduation Invitations

RN Journey,Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping | Wednesday 25 March 2009 3:34 pm

Nursing is an art:  and if it is to be made an art, it requires an exclusive devotion as hard a preparation, as any painter’s or sculptor’s work; for what is the having to do with dead canvas or dead marble, compared with having to do with the living body, the temple of God’s spirit?  It is one of the Fine Arts:  I had almost said, the finest of Fine Arts.  ~Florence Nightingale

I’ve kept this under wraps, and have to share.

Because of the cost of formal invitations I chose to purchase the smallest package possible and my girlfriend Jeryn created me an absolutely gorgeous digital invitation that I have had printed out 4×6 size.

So, {most of you} know me by Jenny. To make a long story short…Jenny is a nickname given to me by my paternal grandfather when I was only a few months old. Not sure how he came up with it but I have always been so thankful, and seriously, I am a Jenny. My real name is Virginia Rose. I was named after my paternal grandmother. Nannie didn’t exactly like her name either and I think she would have preferred that my mom and dad had named me Elizabeth or Isabelle. When I was filling out my intent to graduate paperwork I had to decide what name I wanted on my degree and honestly it was a hard decision for me…

JBP2009

It was hard, but I decided to use my legal name. And I am happy. Nannie would be very proud of me, and her spirit will be with me when that degree is placed in my hands…

Our Pinning Ceremony will be held Friday, May 8th at 6pm. Because of the history behind the Pinning Ceremony I am excited to light that candle and look forward to my dedication of my pin…

Well, that’s my Wednesday rambling. Going to kick back and prepare for LOST and enjoy the remainder of the evening. Tomorrow is going to be heavy on photos of some goodies I splurged on, and goodies that I received from Sharon this morning. Life is good!! Have a great remainder of your Wednesday friends.

Globetrotting…I mean Globetrotters

Everyday Life | Tuesday 24 March 2009 11:57 am

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.  -Robert Brault

I worked at the Group Home last night and was able to take a client to see the Harlem Globetrotters, it was a great show. Unfortunately our seats were in the ‘nosebleed section’ so my pictures aren’t the best…another reason why I need a better lens for my Rebel.

JBP2009

Well friends, the day is ticking by much too fast and I have so much school responsibilities that I really need to do. 12 hour clinical tomorrow at the hospital, so until tomorrow night have a good one!!

Mojo Monday, Giveaway and etc {comments closed}

Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping | Monday 23 March 2009 6:38 am

It’s spring fever.  That is what the name of it is.  And when you’ve got it, you want – oh, you don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!  -Mark Twain

Happy Monday morning friends!! I have a lot to get accomplished today. Hoping to finish up on Renal Failure, drugs used for renal failure, and antianxiety drugs before this day ends. {hmmm…thinking I may need one of these antianxiety meds by time all is said and done!}

Todays Mojo Monday:

JBP2009

I was able to use one of the new stamps that my mother gave me last night!! Nothing was going right while working on this card this morning. I couldn’t get my scallop punches to work properly so I had to resort to using my scallop blade for my paper cutter {I won’t mention I almost lost a finger while changing out the blades}.

Keith uploaded a new widget on the right side of my blog last night for me {thank you Keith}, I am so lucky to have a personal computer geek. I hope you’ll take a minute and decide to follow my blog.

I’m ready for a giveaway…are you?! Looking to add a few new rubber stamps to your collection? Brand new made by Rubber Stampede.

JBP2009

Be sure to leave a comment, and share my link on your blog. One random winner will be announced right here on Saturday, April 4th.

Yesterday was my mothers birthday so I surprised her with a bag full of scrapbook/rubberstamp goodies from my cleaning spree in my studio. I also came home with some great goodies, a scrapbook kit, rubberstamps, embellishments… I told my dad and mom that her studio is like a toy store!! My mom also gave me her nursing watch that she wore while attending nursing school in the early 80′s.

Here’s to a wonderful Monday, and a great week ahead of us!!

Sunday inspiration- 2 Red Bananas

Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.  -Nathaniel Hawthorne

Happy Sunday morning friends. There have been a few stray snowflakes falling this morning, and thankfully it looks like they won’t amount to much!

If you’re looking for a quick Sunday project, 2 Red Bananas has their Sunday challenge posted, here is my take. I don’t think I would have used these colors together, and I kind of like the results.
 JBP2009

That to-do list. I am keeping my to-do list for the week small and within reach again. In the next 2 weeks we have three major exams, and I need to concentrate on studying. So here’s what my to-do list is going to look like for this week:

{re}create my resume
create a cover letter
graduation invitation list
hair/eyes
schedule photos

I’m still doing searches in an attempt to plan out our vegetable garden this season and found Urban Homesteading, very inspiring!! I would love to be able to donate fresh fruits and vegetables to our local homeless shelter…and I have decided that we will plant a few extra plants specifically for that reason. If you are able to have a vegetable garden, I hope that you will consider donating some of your fresh goodies also.

Well, Sunday is moving quickly pass me, and I need to get myself motivated and moving. Two reminders:

1. Tomorrow I’ll be posting a great goodie prize that you may not want to miss out on and 2. This is the final week for Designer applications. If you are interested in being a Designer on a weekly sketch blog, there are 4 available openings. If interested send an email to me — jennyperkins AT myfairpoint DOT net Please put Sketch DT in the subject. Please specify if you are a scrapbooker or rubberstamper or both. A link to your blog and one of your  most recent creations {a card or a layout} Announcements will be made here on Saturday, March 28th. I hope you’ll share this with your friends.}

Saturday Doldrums and total Random talk–

Everyday Life | Saturday 21 March 2009 6:45 pm

In a nutshell, that is basically how I have felt  today–just throw in a killer headache that came out of nowhere and that’s my day today. Ugh. To top it off, I did a resume search and found a site that I thought looked good–created my resume and hit the print button, and guess what? Yeah, it was not a free site, and to print my resume it would have cost $9.95. Talk about totally pissing me off! Guess that’ll teach me to not pay close enough attention.

JBP2009

Because sometimes we need a little reminder…How do you start the day?

My girlfriend Wendy and I went shopping together this afternoon and had a great time together. She is such a hoot, but dang, she is a horrible back-seat driver! I guess I made her a bit nervous a few times, lol.

Simple Living thoughts– Shortly after I found out I lost my job I started looking at ways to cut down household spending more, and coupons was one of them. I did searches, upon searches, upon searches–hours upon hours. What did I find? That it is a sport. A sport that I am not interested in for many reason. Did you know that 47% of coupons are for non-food items, with most coupons issued for cleaning supplies. Visiting a lot of the blogs that I found related to couponing, I found three things in common–gluttony and a whole lot of processed foods and empty calories. Obviously this is coming from the perspective of an East Coast Mainers opinion of no double couponing and limited grocery chains. I’ll continue using my coupons for my Crest and Secret deodorant and when the foods that we eat are on sale price, I’ll take advantage and stock up and call it good. And, on a serious note, I am relieved to know that Millionaire’s are frugal just like the rest of us…well, kinda…and serious, is that really Bill Gates living room? Cause that isn’t too frugal looking to me! lol

And while speaking about money…I am about to work on my two-year goal for finances, and two-year goals for life. One of the plans is to finish the house and put it up for sale. I found this great link and thought I would share, Frugal Ideas to Help Your Home Sell. I am anxious to sell our home, and move out of this town and state. Ton’s of options, no firm decisions as of yet…but I have a feeling it will be in close proximity to warmth!!

If you are thinking about putting your student loans in Forbearance, this link is worth the moment to read…interesting! And if you have a  Vegetable garden on your mind like I do, take a gander at this gorgeous, gorgeous garden that I am drooling over!! Oh, and does anyone know why they would put the terra cotta pots upside down on some of the posts?

Good intentions…

April 1st is my date to begin my walking regimine again!! I was walking 10 miles per day, and my plans are by the end of April to be walking 15 miles per day. My iPod is ready, just need the weather and my body to cooperate with my plans. Part ll of my plans are to be running come May.

Well, I’ve rambled on, and on, have  a lot more to say, and a lot more to share, but well, I’ll save them for other rambling random days. Take care friends, and until tomorrow..
