Rainy Day Ramblings..

Everyday Life | Tuesday 21 April 2009 12:35 pm

Happy Tuesday  from an overcast, rainy day. I have always loved an occassional rainy day, as they are a wonderful excuse to cover up with my quilt on the couch, watch old movies and simply be lazy. Unfortunately, time is not on my side, so no time for napping, but I am sure that I am going to make up for it in a few weeks.

My Army recruiter visited with me today to go over some paperwork to begin the process for my medical physical. Explained the process and what to expect once I receive the date for my physical. He gave me a fanny pack {lol} and the ever elusive bandage scissors.

I’ve been out of sorts lately, and last night realized that I haven’t been creating my weekly to-do list in a number of weeks. I need to get back into that habit, as it helps keep me focused and less chaotic –>which does not fare well with me!

Thinking/planning ahead a bit, upcoming plans/things to do this summer:

I attended a silent auction and ended up winning my bid on a Yoga for Beginners workshop and look forward to calling and scheduling these classes.

A nursing peer asked me if I was interested in taking a Reiki class with her this summer.

Strength training…yep, I cannot put this off any longer and hope to begin this program with a personal trainer. Hopefully he will be able to help me, because man, I am weak in my upper body.

Register for a quilt class. I am determined to make a quilt from scratch for myself, each of my children, my mom and sister, and my nieces.

REad!! Yes read a book that I want to read, not what the Professors have forced me to read for four years now!! Of course, I hope to read while I’m being lazy at the beach!! Hey, a girl has to dream!!

Well tomorrow is my 12 hour clinical at the hospital, so I am going to run along to do some more Psych reading then get my scrubs ironed and bag packed before I call it an early night.

Happy {Mojo} Monday

Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping | Monday 20 April 2009 6:45 am

Happy Monday morning friends! 31 degrees and the sun is shining here on the Coast of Maine. I’m sure many of you are enjoying much warmer weather, but since we haven’t had snow since the first week of April, I will try not to complain about it still being cold ;)

Here’s my Mojo Monday

15 days…and counting!

RN Journey | Sunday 19 April 2009 9:58 pm

As of right now, we have 15 days remaining of Nursing school. Totally intense, and the heat has heated up, and I am doing my dangdest {is that a word} to not procrastinate.

Cannot afford to procrastinate. I don’t have any wiggle room in in Psych, and my graduating all teeter-totters on getting less than 25 questions wrong on my final exam. There I admitted it publically to the world.

I am fighting my anxiety, which by the way, I have surpassed panic level more than one, and have decided I am not entering that exam without one heck of a fight, cause seriously folks, there is no way that I am repeating this semester over.

So today I worked on Adult Client III trying to grasp the Endocrine system, and tonight concentrated on Psych. Rewatched two lectures and rewrote the lecture notes for both lectures. I can do this!!

So, on that note, I am tired, and can’t think straight…so until later…and feel free to keep me in your prayers/thoughts/well wishes, if you don’t mind. Psych lecture bright and early in the morning, and I think it’s based on trauma, specifically to women, I’m sure it is going to be a powerful lecture.

Wedding beginnings…

Everyday Life | Saturday 18 April 2009 6:34 pm

Don’t smother each other.  No one can grow in shade.  -Leo Buscaglia

Still not sure that today was actually here considering that it is almost over…and I have gotten nothing accomplished. Hate when that happens.

The boys and I had stopped at a yardsale on the way home yesterday and I saw a set of candelabras. Thought about them last night, and this morning I took a ride to see if they were still there, and I was in luck. The young woman told me she used them for her wedding reception and that she had paid $250.00 for the pair. Well I have them and hope Toni likes them, as much as I think she will. If not, well I’ll have a pair of candleabras for sale ;)

I would love to hear about your wedding planning wisdom! Do’s/Don’ts…special gifts that you bought for your maid of honor/bridesmaids? If you could do anything differently, what would it be?

I hope your Saturday was a great one! For here, I am going to close. Talk to you tomorrow!

Ahhh, sweet Friday!!

Everyday Life,Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping | Friday 17 April 2009 6:05 pm

Busy, busy day running errands with my two sons. Spent some serious money and did my share of stimulating the economy. Trip to AC Moore and Joanns for a few new goodies. Off to the mall for a new haircut and color {which I love!!}, and Super Walmart for a few goodies and grocery shopping. Weather is supposed to be semi nice this weekend, so we will be grilling it, and my nose will be in the textbooks.

Here’s a few of my crafting goodies:

The Love theme stamps and mini album are specifically to create a special little engagement mini-album for my daughter.

Tomorrow is Sketch it Saturday at Unscripted Sketches. Our second sketch will be posted bright and early tomorrow morning. We hope you will stop in and participate with us!!

Until tomorrow, happy Friday friends.
