Monday, MOnday…

Everyday Life | Monday 25 May 2009 4:30 pm

Today has been a beautiful day. Gotta love this warm weather that has finally reached us here on the East Coast. Typical household chores today, then a quick trip to the local flower nursery and bought some annuals for the back deck and front stairs. Did some picking up outside, and a BBQ for supper.

Ohh, I forgot to share some news…a girlfriend who is pregnant, asked me to be her babies godmother. I of course said yes, and am so excited!! I hope my godchild is a girl!!

Other news I have forgotten to share…one of my girlfriends has been working on opening a school in Liberia. The school will open this September to 12 orphan girls, and the plan is to increase the number by 12 each year. For some information you can visit Gift4Hope. I have volunteered to put together 12 tote bags filled with crayons, markers, notebooks, along with toothpaste, toothbrushes etc, for each girl. If you would like to include 12 identical items {we cannot send food}, drop me a comment. The boxes will be mailed out first of July via cargo ship. Again, I look around at just how blessed I am in my life and if I can bring a smile to a little girls face and a sparkle in her eye I will have made a difference…

So, I don’t know where this is coming from {most of you will smile, and say, that’s our girl!}, but you know what, I really want to visit the Grand Canyon. Strange I know because I’ve never had this desire and it has suddenly hit me, that I want to see the Grand Canyon in person…oh, and of course the photo ops would be spectacular!!

I’ve worked on my couponing for the week, and have to tell you that I doubt they’ll be much excitement on that front. Here’s a couple of blogs that you can scope out:

To end todays post, here’s some pictures of the front steps and back deck from today.

I wish our backdeck was much bigger…but again, I am happy with what I have..but, it sure would be great if that dang thing was bigger!!

FUnny!! I just noticed I forgot to put the chairs out with the table…old age I tell you!

Until tomorrow, Happy Memorial Day. Peace and Remembrance to the men and women who sacrificied their lives for our country.

Saturday, Saturday…

Everyday Life | Saturday 23 May 2009 8:04 pm

I can’t believe how quickly this day has flown by. Was up early this morning and hit a few yardsales. Found some great treasures and just barely spent any money. Gotta love that. And yes, I found some more books! Oliver came along and enjoyed all of the attention that he received from everyone.

Here’s a quick peek…brand new candles {twenty five cents each}, 4 bath towels with the matching washclothes {twenty five cents each}, all the books were twenty five cents each, the little angel-cat is much cuter in person {twenty five cents}. I love birds and bird nests {fifty cents},and plan on putting a photo of the three kids inside the frame. I also picked up a small little tykes wagon for my nephew, Bryce, for $1.00.

I was having huge problems uploading my pictures from my camera onto my laptop and this little guy was delivered to my house this week while I was away…love it! and cannot believe that I went so long fighting with the other card reader that I had for so long!

This was a long week being away from home, and I have to tell you that I am happy to be home with my family. Seems like every time I go away I find myself feeling more homesick.

I found the Hurst Review to be very informative, and feel that I learned a lot. They taught us how to look at test questions a bit differently to find the correct answer. Sure do wish I’d known this secret during nursing school! Anyways, if you are going to be sitting for the NCLEX or have a friend/family member who will be, I would definetly recommend registering for this review.

Well, I’m trying to get myself into a better sleeping schedule, so for here I must find myself sleeping. Hope your Saturday was a beautiful one! Until next time…

Counting down to Friday…

Hey everyone!

I’m out of town attending the Hurst Review. A four day NCLEX review course to assist me in passing the NCLEX on my first attempt.

It’s pretty intense, but the information is given to you in a more precise format with emphasis on making the NCLEX people happy, which equals passing the exam and receiving your license to work as a Registered Nurse. We have covered Fluids and Electrolytes, Acid-Base Balance, Burns, Oncology, Endocrine, Cardiac and Psychiatric Nursing so far.

Nikki and I went into Augusta this afternoon after class and went shopping at Michaels, Goodwill and Job Lot. Found a few little goodies at each store.

Looking forward to heading home Friday night. I miss my family and especially Oliver.

Hope your week is going well. Until later–

Mojo Monday

Family | Monday 18 May 2009 10:36 am

Good Morning Friends! It’s a rainy, gloomy morning here on the East Coast. I have much to get accomplished this morning, and need to find my mojo…

Here’s my creation using the Mojo Monday sketch.

JBP2009

I had technical difficulties, so I couldn’t upload this at 8:30. I didn’t have time to waste because I had a 9 am appointment out of town…well, I was late for the appointment, thanks to that police officer! I sure could buy a lot of scrapbooking/rubberstamping goodies with that $137.00 that I have to hand over to the State of Maine. Errr!!

Heading out of town for the week to a seminar…gotta finish packing. Here’s to a better remainder of this Monday…
