Today was a beautiful day for a picnic lunch, and that is exactly what Keith and I did. We hiked up Great Pond Mountain.

Oliver determined not to go any further about 1/2 way up.

And of course…our self portrait…man, I always look horrible in these pictures!! ERr. My eyes look really bad, and honest I have very good reason…I had my yearly eye appointment prior to our excursion, and my eyes were dilated. I had sunglasses, but took them and my baseball cap off for the photo {as you can tell}.
My eye appointment went very well, and it appears both of my eyes are equal to last years appointment. Last summer I was diagnosed as having Atrophic Retinal Hole:Lattice Degeneration. It’s kind of scary to think about a retinal detachment, so I prefer to forget about it, but keep the signs and symptoms in mind per my doctor.
Anyways, between the walk yesterday with Marj, and today’s hike, my body is reminding me exactly how old I am.
This morning I rolled over to Oliver whimpering that he wanted up in the bed. I picked him up and he immediately made himself comfortable, and I looked over at my nightstand and picked up The Last Lecture that Keith bought for me sometime ago, and began reading it. I am not very far into the book at all, and all I can say is, wow {insert a tear here}.
For now, I’m going to run along. We have a movie and popcorn on the agenda tonight. Hope your day has been a wonderful one friends.
