{Simply Sunday} will be focused on simple living, healthy living, frugal ideas, helpful links etc.
To-Do and This’n That
I’ll be tackling my usual Sunday system in an attempt to keep me organized this week, and more importantly, hopefully I am able to get a few things accomplished.
I love creating my To-do list for the week. I always start out with my basics, ie: doctor appointments, commitments with friends etc. I look at my calendar book to check if any of my friends have a birthday that week and then I set up my goals for the week.
The July 2009 issue of Prevention has an article entitled “Health Lessons from you To-Do List” written by Nancy Kalish. I found the article very interesting. According to psychologist Sam Gosling the way we write our to-do list can reveal a lot about ourselves.
-
Written on napkins: you are spontaneous and creative, you don’t want to be ruled by your to-do list.
-
Written on Post-its: you’re likely flexible and go with the flow.
-
On your computer and synced with your phone: you are highly organized. But, if you are too rigid, it could impinge on your creativity.
I’m intrigued by Sam’s book, Snoop and have a feeling I’ll be doing a search for it at Amazon.
One of my BIG plans beginning tonight is to get on a schedule. Bed between 9-10pm Sunday thru Thursday. I’ve been reading bits and pieces of one of the Fibromyalgia books that I have and a sleep schedule appears to be an important goal for myself to get in. I figure while I’m unemployed, this might be a good time to begin this, and to find out what my personal sleep schedule truly is.
In the Kitchen
I found a recipe for a little something that I want to make, and purchased a few of the necessary items, and wouldn’t you know that the main ingredient needed isn’t available right now, err. Hopefully I’ll be able to share the recipe and pictures with you soon.
Next weekend I want to put together a Windowsill Herb Garden. I have to admit that last year I started one, but my black thumb got in the way. If you have any advice, suggestions, I would love to hear them.
I’m always looking for low calorie–Good for you, meals. Again, the July 2009 issue of Prevention has some great 400 calorie meal ideas, and you can find More meal ideas here. Easy, and good for you, what could be better?! And of course, if you are still looking for a few good meal ideas, Real Simple is another great site.
One of my favorite sites to visit Old Fashioned Living, and for more low cost, cooking from scratch, Hillbilly Housewife has a great list of recipes.
In the Stores {couponing}
Today begins a new day for our weekly couponing. I am not sure if I will be couponing this week due to time constraints.
Here’s a few links for you this week:
