{Simply Sunday} will be focused on simple living, healthy living, frugal ideas, helpful links etc.
To-Do and This’n That
I’ll be tackling my usual Sunday system in an attempt to keep me organized this week, and more importantly, hopefully I am able to get a few things accomplished. I have included Olivers bath on Sundays also.
And, before I forget…Today at 1:45am EST Summer Solstice has officially arrived, and from what I am reading tho it is claimed to be the longest day of each year, it is actually only 1 minute longer than yesterday, and summer solstice actually marks the point when daylight length begins to decrease.
And Happy Fathers Day to my Daddy, Keith and Reg. Three important men in my life and my children’s lifes.
You know you love a good yard sale as much as I do. Admit it! 10 Yard Sale Entertaining Essentials and more yard sale entertaining finds here. I am still working on putting together my outdoor table setting…I’ll share a picture once it is completed.

In the Kitchen
Mitchell and I made a Coffee Cake tonight after supper. The ingredients are all basic pantry items, so nothing special needs to be purchased. Very moist cake, and delicious.

Homemade Coffee Cake
Cake Ingredients:
2 c sifted flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c sugar
6 tbls butter
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c milk
1 1/2 tbls melted butter
Topping:
1 tbls flour
1/4 c sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut butter into dry ingredients with a fork. In separate bowl combine egg with milk; add flour mix. Stir until mixture is well blended and smooth. Spoon into greased and floured 9 inch layer pan. Spread dough with melted butter.
Combine sugar, flour, and cinnamon; sift over the top of cake, spread with a fork to cover evenly.
Bake at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Serve warm.
In the Stores {couponing}
I try to use coupons faithfully, especially on the everyday products: crest toothpaste, secret deodorant, shampoo etc. I don’t have time to store hop, and especially don’t have the time to shop for my items only to receive an attitude from the cashier and refusal of coupon uses…so I have decided because of my horrible experience at Target, I will no longer shop at Target.
Because of needing to know the in’s and out’s of couponing at Walgreens and having more difficulty using coupons at Walgreens vs positive experiences, I will no longer use coupons at Walgreens {sorry, if I’m buying particular items I shouldn’t have to purchase ‘filler’ items because of the number of coupons that I am using}. I will still shop at Walgreens, because I have not had a bad experience related to customer service.
Where the hell is she going to use coupons you ask? Easy.
Walmart. I have not had one problem using coupons at Walmart. No beeps, no cashier attitude, no refusal to accept coupon because the coupon = $1.00 off and the item = .99cents. Thank you to Walmart for allowing me to save some money and not cause undue stress or humiliation..or the waste of my valuable time.
Total Price = $6.00. With coupons = Free.

I needed a new pair of slippers to bum around the house in, looked over and spied these. {Toni the teal pair are for you}.
Total price = $15.00. On Clearance $1.00 each.

Well friends, this night is closing in on me, and I have a few things I want/need to get accomplished before I call it a night. With any luck, tonight will not mark night 3 of Insomnia!! I hope you enjoy this Simply Sunday post, and I would love to hear some comments/feedback from all of you who are reading. Until later…

I feel ya on the running around. Sometimes it’s a pain, but I do it anyway. Walgreens is a pain in the rear. I much prefer CVS!
