Sunday is the day I use to get myself, my family and my home ready for the week ahead. {Simply Sunday} will focus on the things that are important to me:

  • Frugal/Simple Living
  • Living Healthy[ier]
  • Organization/Simplicity
  • Creating a beautiful Home
  • Being the Best mother, wife, friend, person that I can be

And of course, plain ‘ole Ramblings!

To-Do List for the Week

  • Minimum of 40 hrs of NCLEX study time
  • Create card for Saturdays Unscripted Sketches
  • Finish New Moon
  • Make appt for Reiki workshop
  • Thurs- OMT appt
  • Paperwork
  • Create new personal email account, because My Fair Point sucks and the spam is horrendous!

I have decided that I am going to begin concentrating on one room of my home for an entire month. A deep clean and then look at how to simplify the area, change curtains/rearrange furniture, touch up paint, etc. Of course this is going to require the assistance of everyone in the house. Yeah, I can hear the moans and groans already.

August = The downstairs hallway Sounds easy, huh. Nope. The remainder of the wallpaper needs to come off so we can paint. The great thing about working on the Hallway is it will give me the push I need to print and frame the photos that I want to hang on the walls.

twilight

This flair button says it all. I finished Twilight, and I’m pretty close to finishing New Mo0n. And I am addicted. Well, not as addicted as my girlie Jeryn!

I have to admit that it has been so wonderful to just read and not have to worry about memorizing, highlighting, writing note cards, trying to decipher info, etc. Not looking forward to the new round of textbooks that begin in the Fall…[insert a huge moan here].

Did any of you catch the premiere of Hell’s Kitchen the other night? I have a feeling this is going to be one hell of a season!!  Here’s what I saw…

  • Amanda. Are you an effing moron? Serve Chef Ramsay french toast and request him to do Tequilia shots with you? Ummm…french toast/tequilia, so trailer park Amanda.
  • Joseph. Ohhhh Joseph. You are a cute little thing sweetheart, but you have some major anger issues!
  • Van. I love cowboys. But cowboy does not automatically = bulletproof, and seriously Jean-Phillippe may cause some ‘gaydars’ to go off, but I dunno, I think he could stand his ground fairly well.
  • Lovely. Oh lord. This is like deja ‘vue. You act a lot like Lacey and I’ll be damned, you share her laziness also.

Today’s Project 365 Photo

Another flower picture you say? lol Yeah, I know, but I love flowers, and this guy is from my front garden, and there is a story that goes a long with it…

Two hummingbirds are practically living in our  front garden and for two days now I have been trying to get a picture of one, or both of them….but just as I get situated a car will drive by, or one of the neighbor kids will run up the street yelling, or Oliver will make a sound…so, I gave up this afternoon. But, I am going to keep my fingers crossed! Errr, speak of the devil, I just missed one visiting the flower garden again. And speaking of hummingbirds, did you know that hummingbirds especially like red flowers? I think I knew this and forgot, and today while reading a gardening book it brought it back to my attention.

Being happy = being healthier, living longer, having better relationships, and being more successful. I stumbled across this and found it interesting. The How of Happiness by Sonja Lyubomirsky 12 Steps to be happy Every Day…

  • Count your blessings
  • Look again [ie: most situations have a bright side]
  • Don’t stew [ie: don't dwell on problems, etc.]
  • Tell someone they look terrific [you just may make someones day]
  • Nurture relationships
  • Get lost [in a book, in a movie, project, etc.]
  • Remember when [remember those happy memories]
  • Pursue a long-neglected goal [with passion!!]
  • Cope calmly [ie: managing stress]
  • Forgive [let go]
  • Embrace the spiritual
  • Honor your body [exercise, meditate and laugh often.]

I am finding myself having a very difficult time nurturing [particular] relationships. Because my thoughts and feelings would certainly cause drama, and since I do not thrive on drama and prefer to keep it out of my life, we’ll side step the story behind this. I really need to work on not stewing. I become fixated on my problems and cause myself more stress than necessary.

Wow, lot of lists. Lots of good ones in the last one but I find lists make me nervous. More thing to do!
Hope your sunday was great and the hallway clear of wallpaper.

I love your simply Sundays though they never end up so simple, do they? Today I bought a 99cent tube of toothpaste and tried to use $1 coupon (figuring they’d adjust the price of the coupon to 99cents!) and they lady thought I was crazy! Seriously, I work retail, it isnt’ that hard. I could’ve put up a fight but I just didn’t buy it, because I have too much to do today. I’ll try with another cashier!

Oh and Hell’s Kitchen–didn’t even know it was going to be back so soon. I’m going to kill Lovely if she makes it past this week.
