Sunday is the day I use to get myself, my family and my home ready for the week ahead. {Simply Sunday} will focus on the things that are important to me:
And of course, plain ‘ole Ramblings!
To-Do List for the Week
I have decided that I am going to begin concentrating on one room of my home for an entire month. A deep clean and then look at how to simplify the area, change curtains/rearrange furniture, touch up paint, etc. Of course this is going to require the assistance of everyone in the house. Yeah, I can hear the moans and groans already.
August = The downstairs hallway Sounds easy, huh. Nope. The remainder of the wallpaper needs to come off so we can paint. The great thing about working on the Hallway is it will give me the push I need to print and frame the photos that I want to hang on the walls.

This flair button says it all. I finished Twilight, and I’m pretty close to finishing New Mo0n. And I am addicted. Well, not as addicted as my girlie Jeryn!
I have to admit that it has been so wonderful to just read and not have to worry about memorizing, highlighting, writing note cards, trying to decipher info, etc. Not looking forward to the new round of textbooks that begin in the Fall…[insert a huge moan here].
Did any of you catch the premiere of Hell’s Kitchen the other night? I have a feeling this is going to be one hell of a season!! Here’s what I saw…
Today’s Project 365 Photo

Another flower picture you say? lol Yeah, I know, but I love flowers, and this guy is from my front garden, and there is a story that goes a long with it…
Two hummingbirds are practically living in our front garden and for two days now I have been trying to get a picture of one, or both of them….but just as I get situated a car will drive by, or one of the neighbor kids will run up the street yelling, or Oliver will make a sound…so, I gave up this afternoon. But, I am going to keep my fingers crossed! Errr, speak of the devil, I just missed one visiting the flower garden again. And speaking of hummingbirds, did you know that hummingbirds especially like red flowers? I think I knew this and forgot, and today while reading a gardening book it brought it back to my attention.
Being happy = being healthier, living longer, having better relationships, and being more successful. I stumbled across this and found it interesting. The How of Happiness by Sonja Lyubomirsky 12 Steps to be happy Every Day…
I am finding myself having a very difficult time nurturing [particular] relationships. Because my thoughts and feelings would certainly cause drama, and since I do not thrive on drama and prefer to keep it out of my life, we’ll side step the story behind this. I really need to work on not stewing. I become fixated on my problems and cause myself more stress than necessary.

For here I am going to close up this post and find myself in bed with New Moon. Until tomorrow, I hope your weekend has been a beautiful one…

I love yard saling…a few dollars in my pocket, sun and time to just browse. But, I do have to growl about those perpetual yard sales…you know the ones! Well, we followed a ‘new’ yard sale this morning, four miles out of our way, only to find it was the perpetual yard sale of garbage and the smell of mildew due to their never removing the items off the front lawn. I was not happy, and had a few [pirate] words to say.

But, first things first! Keith and I walked around our Bucksport Days Festival this afternoon and on the way home we bought a small ice cream cone with jimmies to share, so here is my Project 365 photo for today.
I have a thing about chocolate jimmies. Love ‘em, and love how they always make me think about my childhood and my Grampa. Grampa used to call the jimmies chocolate covered ants, and I remember laughing and telling him not to be so silly. Grampa would say, “I’m not the silly one, you are, because you’re the one eating chocolate covered ants!”
Wanna see a few of my yard sale goodies?

Love these small frames. 25cents each. I plan on priming and painting white and distressing them.

I paid $1.00 total for all in the above photo. I plan on turning the Girl Scout tin into a mini album for Toni…now to find all of her Girl Scout pictures!! Another mason jar for ephemera, biscuit cutters and measuring spoons. The little wire whisk is going to be perfect to add to a recipe mini album book.

A 17.5 inch tall ceramic tree…$1.00!! Ahuh, $1.00!! I am loving these ceramic tree’s, and now have three. Each different, vintage and beautiful!!
BLog Candy!!
Well, I am rambling, and I need to think about supper so we can kick back the rest of the evening with a movie. Until tomorrow, I am hoping to have my {Simply Sunday} post, but no promises. I hope your day has been a beautiful, relaxing one!!

Happy Saturday morning friends!! The sun is shining, Unscripted Sketches #16 is posted, and it’s a lazy day planned with my family. Couldn’t ask for anything more! I’m showered and dressed, have walked Oliver, and I am ready to start this day!!
Here is my take on this weeks sketch at Unscripted Sketches. The team decided to use a photo as our focal point on our projects. I created an 8×8 layout using mine and Keith’s first photo taken together early in our relationship.

I’m going to pull my house together quickly and get moving. I’ll be back later tonight with a Saturday rambling post and my Project 365 photo, until later, here’s to a beautiful day!!

Happy Friday! We woke up to rain, and it appears we’ll be going to sleep to rain. But the forecast for the weekend looks good, so all is good. This weekend is the Bucksport Bay Festival here in town.
Here’s my Project 365 photo for today

Amish Friendship Bread is so worth the 10 day wait!! Recipe that I used. Perfect on a rainy, damp [summer] day.
I picked up The Writer’s Retreat Kit by Judy Reeves and have looked forward to just begin writing. They are selling on Amazon, used for about $5.00. Honestly, for the past four years my blog has been a great outlet, but there are a few things that don’t belong on the internet. I am looking forward to beginning this project, and hope it will help me [tell my story] to my children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, etc.
The other night we lost our electricity for awhile and Matthew and I went outside and sat on the front steps. Matthew commented about all of the stars in the sky and it brang back such a memory of my childhood..growing up in South Boston, Mass seeing the stars was not very easy due to all of the lights in the city. I remember when we would visit Maine in the summer being fascinated by the stars and not understanding why they were there but not at home…a childhood memory that I forgot about. When I shared it with my son he was pretty fascinated by it.
For here I am going to run along and get myself situated for bed, see you in the morning with my Unscripted Sketches project.

Hey Friends, and Happy THursday!! Unfortunately in my part of the world it’s pretty dark right now and the smell of rain is in the air. The grass and trees are a beautiful green, but I have to tell you that I don’t believe that my flowers are happy with the amount of rain that we’ve received.
Here’s my Project 365 photo for today

Oliver and I went shopping this afternoon and I bought him a harness. HOping that will make walking him easier as he almost chokes himself trying to get so far ahead of you on his collar and leash.
I’m working on prettying up my blog and changing a few things around, so excuse the dust that is/will be flying around for a few days.
Until tomorrow, enjoy the remainder of your Thursday!
