Goodbye to August

Blog Party,Everyday Life | Monday 31 August 2009 10:27 pm

Seriously, have you ever seen a month fly by as quickly as August did? I’m still not so sure where it went to, and would love to have it back for a few more weeks…minus a lot of the rain that we received, of course.

I had another round of OMT this morning. In this post I shared about my Psoas muscle being contracted. The dr told me this morning that my pelvic bone is not as tight as it was at  my original appointment and he is very happy that my mobility is increasing and the pain is decreasing…as am I. Of course, right now I feel like a steam roller has backed up over me a few times…but it’ll be worth it in a few days.

I’ve been giggly all day, and I have to share or I am going to burst! This morning, I ordered my new camera. It’ll be here Wednesday, and I cannot wait. I ordered the Canon Rebel XSi that I’ve been drooling over for some time now. I LOVE my Canon Rebel and it has been amazing to me for over 4 years now, but after playing with Nikki’s Rebel XSi a few times, I have dreamt about moving up, and cannot wait until my girl is in my hands!!

Mitchell asked for lasagna for her birthday meal. It had been so long since I’ve had lasanga I forgot how delicious it is.

I stopped into an Antique store this afternoon and found this adorable little birdcage sitting on the front counter, and at $2.00, how could I resist?!

I bet you already know that spray painting will be on tomorrow’s agenda…I’ll share an after photo tomorrow night.

Well friends, it’s late, and I am going to attempt to do some reading in that Statistics book for a few minutes until it causes me to fall asleep like a baby ;) Here’s to a wonderful September ahead of us!! Until tomorrow-

SUnday, Sunday…

Blog Party,Everyday Life,Family | Sunday 30 August 2009 7:39 pm

Happy Sunday Friends!!  Today is my last day of freedom for another 15 weeks of my life. Yeah, the thought makes my tummy a bit wobbly.

I have to tell you that I am truly going to love my Healing and Spirituality course, so happy I enrolled in it. Here’s a quote that I found rather interesting in my reading last night:

“Who are the greatest benefactors of the living generation of mankind?” Toynbee asked; and answered: “Confucius and Laotze, the Buddha, the Prophets of Israel and Judah, Zoroaster, Jesus, Mohammed and Socrates.”

The author wrote: “We will never quite understand the religions that are not our own, but we must take them seriously by seeing these men and women as those who face problems much like our own and we must rid our minds of preconceptions that could dull our sensitivity to fresh insights.”

Ready for some Sunday Inspiration?

I am so happy I found Shadow Shot Sunday. Such a cool concept. The funny thing is a few weeks ago while scrapbooking Judy showed me an article about Angela Cartwright being an artist and specializing in photography related to shadows.

One word for Statistics. BLeh! I’m working my way thru the reading and homework…making progresss, so that in itself is a good thing considering math is huge weakness/barrier to me.

So much more to share, say, but time is ticking. I hope your Sunday has been a beautiful one. Until tomorrow-

Hello/Goodbye SAturday!

Hello and Happy Saturday friends!! Insomnia is kicking my ass badly and I didn’t fall asleep until after 3:30 this morning, so needless to say I’ve gotten nothing accomplished other than bringing my youngest son to the big city for driving and a quick trip to Walmart.

Let’s get some mojo going…you ready?

I am loving Camera Critters. Of course, you can’t help but love a blog party that gives you permission to take more pictures of your cherished animals…and we all know, that for me, that is my Oliver.

Love Sunday Favorites. It’s a great way to look back at some older blog posts and choose one to rerun. For todays Sunday Favorite I am stepping back into March 10, 2009 to a post I entitled Mindfulness and here is the photo I used on that post, which makes me think about Spiritual Sunday….and I share this with you…

Isaiah 41:10  10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
       I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

And the JOurney continues…

Hello Friends, and happy Friday! I hope your day has been a great one!! Besides typical house chores, I did a quick trip to my college [UMA] to visit the bookstore [insert huge sigh here]. Here are my newest books for this semesters classes as I work my way thru the journey of my Bachelors Degree in Nursing [and my Project 365 photo for today]. Close to $400.00 sitting here in books.

So Statistics, World Music, and Spirituality and Healing, please don’t be too hard on me, I’m still feeling rather raw, and emotional.

I received a wonderful surprise in my mail box this morning…one of my Unscripted Designers sent me this beautiful card, just because. Thank you Steph! You made my day, and I love this beautiful card!!

Here’s a photo for Foodie Friday. Nothing better than homemade pizza and here is the recipe for the pizza crust.

Well friends, that’s the excitement for this post. A hot shower and flannel pj’s are calling my name. Until tomorrow…

Lots of STuff!

Blog Party,Everyday Life,Recipes,Simple Living | Thursday 27 August 2009 8:53 pm

Happy Thursday friends!! Woke up this morning to a chilly beginning [no complaining], and 101 ideas/plans and schemes. Well, I didn’t accomplish all 101 but I did accomplish a few, so life is good.

JBP2009

After the afternoon chores, Keith and I made a trip to Goodwill and it’s Thrift Store Thursday. I found this brand new rolling suitcase and inside was the samsonite carryall…Grand total: $1.99!

On the way home we stopped at an antique store and I found this lovey to add to my collection…

In the first photo, not sure if you can see it clearly, but the case is monogrammed L.A.K.E. There was no price on the suitcase so I asked the gentleman expecting to have to walk out the door ‘without’ it and after a moment of thinking he said, $5.00! WAhooo!!

Inspire Me Thursday topic for today is Pears.

Oh, and if you’ve been wondering where I’ve been running off to with my boys for a month now in the big city, here’s my Project 365 photo for today.

They are a little late going to drivers ed, but driving is a priviledge and unfortunately they made some wrong choices when it came to school grades so they were not rewarded.

They are going to be the death of me….but, I’m being told there are a lot of women still walking around that survived their sons, so maybe I’ll be one of those lucky ones!!

Well friends, I hope your day has been a beautiful one, and until tomorrow…

Another WHirlwind DAy

Everyday Life,Family | Wednesday 26 August 2009 9:43 pm

JBP2009

Ugh! Another day spent away from home.

Had to take the boys to the city, went to my girlfriend Beckys house and was able to rearrange and clean her bedroom and livingroom. 100% completed!!

Then I went to my mom and dads to kill a few hours waiting to pick the boys up. Mom of course sent me home with a few goodies.

Was trying to take a picture of my dad and he did just about everything he could do to botch it…but here he is for todays Project 365 photo. Isn’t he handsome!! And I so wish I got his beautiful blue eyes!!

Well friends, I am exhausted and need to find myself heading towards sleep. Until tomorrow-
