ROck me Amadeus

Everyday Life,Simple Living | Tuesday 25 August 2009 9:41 pm

Here’s to another day that has flown by. Spent a few hours with my girlfriend Becky, today. Trying to help her get her apartment ready for the birth of her son [due date: October 31st.]. As you can imagine at 31 weeks pregnant she has the want and desire to get things accomplished, but tires rather easily. Today I did her bathroom, hallway and kitchen. The good-friend that I am, I told her I would clean/reorganize her apartment this ONE time and NEVER again in those exact terms! Becky of course laughed and promised me she would never let the housework get that out of control again…we’ll see! So tomorrow I’m back to her apartment to tackle her livingroom and her bedroom….tired just thinking of it…

I’ve been attempting to read Something More: Excavating Your Authentic Self  and Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy both by Sarah Ban Breathnach as a nightly routine. Like my Project 365 photo that I do daily, I am hoping that the habit will fall into place and become second nature.

I really appreciate Sarah Ban Breathnachs writing. Very inspiring and empowering.

The other night the lesson was Music as Therapy. I love music and as I read the entry it made so much sense to me. I believe strongly that music can heal disease, depression and sorrow. I have a few songs in my memory from difficult parts of my life that if I heard one of them now it would bring me back to that moment in time and I would relive the pain my heart and soul that I was going thru at that time. Seriously, that is powerful!!

As I was reading the lesson it mentioned that “if you need to focus your concentration, listening to Mozart can increase your clarity–which is why it’s the recommended accompaniment for exam cramming as well as creative brainstorming.” Well, I’ll be damned! Someone forgot to mention this fact to me while I was in Nursing School!!

While Becky and I were jabbering this afternoon I mentioned this and she pulled out two Mozart cd’s and gave them to me [she had duplicates]. Can’t hurt to give it a try, right!?

…here’s my Project 365 photo for today

And tonight I am watching Amadeus, [oh, you know me...always behind the rest of the world with my head in the sand]. All is good!!

Until tomorrow friends…

Hey Everyone!

Been gone just about all day. Big city with the two boys. Spent some time with my pal, Becky, then a few hours with my Mom and Dad.

My Project 365 photo for today is Keith. A rare photo of him not sticking out his tongue.

Until tomorrow-

Zonked!!

Blog Party,Everyday Life,Oliver | Sunday 23 August 2009 8:47 pm

What a day!! Went to bed around midnight last night. Laid there until 2:30am when I decided to get up. Came down stairs and played around until 5:30am. Woke at 8:30am feeling like a mack truck had run me over. Later this afternoon I fell asleep on the couch for about an hour and a half. Moral of story? I think I am going to sleep very, very good tonight!!

Oliver has found himself with fleas! [insert every profanity that comes to mind here]. Makes me feel so horrible for my little guy. So we did a trip to Petco for flea spray and bath stuff [the front line does not seem to be working?], and the little guy just had his bath and special treat and now is running around the house like a maniac.

So on that note, here is my Project 365 photo for today

Classes begin this week, and I’m still searching for a Statistics geek, I mean guru! I am really trying to have positive thoughts, but I have to tell you, it all looks pretty complicated and chaotic to me!!

For Shadow Shot Sunday, I thought this photo of Oliver would be perfect!

Well as I said, I am zonked, and I am going to find myself getting ready to settle in for the night. Busy week ahead of me and my family. Until tomorrow-

Saturday stuff

Blog Party,Everyday Life | Saturday 22 August 2009 10:06 pm

It’s moments like this that I wish I did not close up the previous 4 years of my blog. Chari at Happy to Design hosts a Sunday Favorite where you choose a favorite blog entry and re-share it.

  • I’ve chosen an entry from March 1st entitled Lazy Sundays.
  • The photo of Pyro sitting on the chair looking out at the snow and Shiva hogging all of the heat from the floor register makes me smile and is a great image for the Camera Critters Meme.

I don’t want to alarm you, but I chose not to go yardsaling this morning. Imagine! Infact I’ve only been outside to walk Oliver today and that is it. I have particular pieces of furniture that I am trying to find and so far this yard sale season I’ve found none of what I want, so this morning I decided I just wasn’t in the mood.

Today’s Project 365 photo. A photo of my Nannie and Grampa many, many years ago.

I did manage to scrapbook for a little bit today. Nothing really accomplished other than one heck of a mess! Amazing how that happens!!

Until tomorrow, I hope your Saturday was a beautiful one.

Unscripted Sketches

Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping | Saturday 22 August 2009 10:07 am

Happy Saturday morning friends!!

In my post yesterday I shared the cover of the K&Co album that holds 4×6 photos and my idea of using the Unscripted Sketches to create the layouts for this mini album. My ‘theme’ is simply, Snapshots. Just random recent snapshots.

Here is my 4×6 layout using Unscripted Sketch #20. I tossed the sketch up a little bit to suit me, and I love the end results.

I’ll be back later today with some Saturday ramblings and my Project 365 photo

Bouquets of Inspiration…

Everyday Life,Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping | Friday 21 August 2009 5:02 pm

Hello Friends, and Hello to Friday!! Dwindling down that to-do list, need to become more focused studying for the blasted NCLEX exam, but here I am hoping for a wonderful weekend.

Sharon sent me a box filled with misc scrapbooking goodies last week and in the box was this K&Co album that holds 4×6 photos. As I was holding it in my hands I was wondering what I could do with it when it dawned on me.

JBP2009

My life is crazy, and will become even crazier in a few weeks when my college classes start back up to work towards by Bachelors in Nursing. Have I mentioned that I’m having nightmares over the thought of that statistics class? Any chance you’re a statistics whiz? Doesn’t hurt to ask, right?!

So, I was thinking as busy as life becomes, I can still find the time to scrapbook a 4×6 layout. No intimidation. Quick. Easy. And most importantly, I’ll be getting a mini album accomplished! Gotta love that. I’ve decided that I am going to use the Unscripted Sketches for the basis of my layouts. Tomorrow I’ll share my 4×6 layout using the Unscripted Sketch.

When I came downstairs this morning this little bouquet of flowers was waiting for me on my laptop. Isn’t that so sweet!! I truly could never ask for a better life…

Friends, have a wonderful remainder of your Friday, and I hope your weekend is full of happiness and smiles. Until tomorrow…
