Here and THere…

Everyday Life | Tuesday 15 December 2009 5:32 pm

Trying to catch up on life, and in the process my blog is being neglected–along with Unscripted Sketches, and Project 365. One day at a time is what I keep reminding myself…

JBP2009

I had my first interview at a facility for a RN position last Friday, and was told I would receive an acceptance or denial this week. My fingers are crossed that I receive the position.

Let’s see what else have I been up to:

  • I spent a couple of days going thru every magazine that I own and that I’ve been hoarding. I cut out/ripped out ideas, recipes, inspiration, etc. And yes–I ripped up every scrapbook magazine that I own also. I have a really great idea for storing the scrapbooking ideas and inspiration!
  • I’ve been reading The Host, by Stephanie Meyers
  • Working on some long-term monthly menu plans, and recipes for Nikki and I to get together one day a month specifically to cook, and freeze meals for our families.
  • January 1st will be the premiere of my new blog design, and again I will probably archieve the 2009 entries.
  • Thought I only needed one new tire for Misery [my SUV], my brother burst my bubble by pointing out that Misery in fact needs two new tires. Grrr!

Well folks, I’ve been working on this post for awhile now while talking with Nikki, and running around the house doing errands, so I am going to publish this and get ready to call it a night. Until next time…

Fly by…

Everyday Life | Friday 11 December 2009 9:26 pm

Hello and Happy Friday!! Another week has flown by much too quickly!

JBP2009

I am still trying to catch up with life and responsibilities, and hoping before the end of the weekend that I’ll be a step or two ahead.

I have started sending out my resume and this afternoon I had my first interview.

Well, I hope each of you are well, and here’s to a beautiful and peaceful weekend for all of us. Until next time…

For the LOVE of Oliver!!

If you think this little guy is melting your heart right now, you don’t even know the half of it! There is nothing like waking up in the middle of the night to find this little guy snuggled up against you, or when he’s loving you and puts his nose right up into the nape of your neck and snorts!

I have to do another round of Christmas pictures of him tomorrow. He kept trying to lay down and take a nap, and we had slight difficulties with the reindeer antlers.

Great day today and I got a number of things accomplished on the to-do list. Life is good! Until tomorrow…

Sunday STuff

Everyday Life | Sunday 6 December 2009 2:06 pm

Happy Sunday friends. It was a lazy, quiet day in our home today. Watched netflix movies, and working on the to-do list, and attempting to pull together my resume. Forgot how time consuming of a project this is.

Woke up to about 6 inches of snow this morning. The fresh snow is pretty, but the thought of more snow and colder temperatures to come makes me anxious for the arrival of Spring.

JBP2009

Much to do this week so here’s to a wonderful week ahead of each of us, filled with good things and lots of things crossed off our to-do lists.

Dogs are our link to paradise. They don’t know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring–it was peace.” – Milan Kundera

“No matter how little money and how few possesions you own, having a dog makes you rich.” – Louis Sabin

Whirlwind and Random PHotos…

Everyday Life, Family, Oliver | Friday 4 December 2009 10:48 pm

Well, we are home. We left North Carolina yesterday morning at 8:30am, stopped for fuel, to eat, potty breaks and coffee refills and pulled into my driveway at 6:30am this morning. 22 hours of driving!! Seriously not sure how truck drivers do it, and can’t say I would want to do the round trip again anytime soon…and needless to say, we encountered a lot of rush-hour traffic. Unfortunately I missed a lot of great photo op’s due to the night driving.

My beautiful daughter, Toni and I, and of course, my favorite guy, Oliver..

The lens on my Canon DRebel is the basic that comes with the camera so I am unable to get the good closeups that I would prefer/want. My daughters apartment is on the third floor and looking out her back deck the trees were full of beautiful birds including red cardinals.

A few minutes from my daughters apartment is the police department, and I had to laugh to see “Slick & Red’s Saloon” directly next door!

I thought this billboard was funny, because I’ve said it, a time or two…

Well folks, there’s a bit of a peek. My body is telling me to call it a night and get some much needed sleep. Until tomorrow..
