Lazy FRiday

Everyday Life,Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping | Friday 15 January 2010 11:50 pm

Today was a lazy day. I did get a couple of things accomplished, and drank too much coffee, but for the most part, it was just the way I like to spend a day…quiet, and lazy.

I’ve been teeter-tottering and fighting against another round of depression, and damn this is so not fun. If you have any advice or words of wisdom on this subject please feel free to share. I think a warmer climate would be helpful.

Here is my layout for the Log Your Memory Week #2 Challenge

I am really enjoying this book, and the process, and so happy that I found LYM.

I am so copying this project to create one for my brand new goddaughter, Ashley! Photo and idea both from Danielle Flanders blog. Just beautiful!!

MOre tomorrow…here’s to a beautiful weekend for all of us!

Staying Busy…

Everyday Life,Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping | Thursday 14 January 2010 8:49 pm

Hey Friends!

I’ve been working hard here. Can’t say I’ve gotten a lot accomplished, but that to-do list has shrunk, and after two days of doing hours and hours, and hours of uploading my resume and applying for jobs in Texas, Maine, and North Dakota, I have received two interview requests so far. One 91 miles to the North of my home, and one 73 miles to the South of my home. Fingers crossed!!

I updated Unscripted Sketches and I’m pretty pleased with my ideas and the appearance. Jeryn created an Unscripted Sketches Facebook page for us. We hope you’ll stop in and join us.

A group of wild’n Crazy women that I love are working on a bi-weekly Quilt’n Clay night together. Because I have never made a quilt, and know absolutely nothing about quilting, I know I need to start easy. I found this pattern and I like the looks of it [and it's for a beginner], I may use this pattern to create a quilt for the couch as my first attempt. I’ll keep you all posted.

I worked on a quick layout the other day…Once I do my journaling I will glue everything down.

Tomorrow I am hoping to get moving on some swaps that I have joined so I can mail them out and not have to worry about them. Note to self for future reference: “limit the number you sign up for next time.” Yeah, I am sure I’ll write a similiar note somewhere down the line.

My daughter, Toni, was planning an August 2010 wedding, and they have postponed their wedding and have changed their date to 10/10/10. Now we need to get moving along with the plans. So exciting!

Busy day tomorrow, so for here I need to find myself getting situated to call it a night. Until later.

got Time?

Everyday Life | Monday 11 January 2010 11:17 pm

If you have any spare time to donate, feel free to pass on as many seconds, minutes and hours, that you can spare, because I am not doing so well with the lack of time that I have.

I wanted to share a special Christmas gift that was sent to me by a very special woman, Anne. An antique doll wearing a nursing outfit from Boston General Hospital in the 1950′s. So blessed to have Anne in my life.

Well, speaking of time, it’s ticking by, and I am hoping to have a good night sleep tonight free from insomnia.

Until later.

Introducing…my new Girlie!!

Everyday Life | Friday 8 January 2010 8:43 pm

My new girl arrived at the car dealership last night, and this morning I handed over “Misery”.

We had “Misery” for 6 days shy of five years! The longest that I have ever kept a vehicle! Love her, but it was time to say farewell.

And now, introducing my new Girlie!!

My mom suggested to name my new car “Elvis” as today is Elvis Presley’s birthday. I was thinking more along the lines of “Bella”.

Important information that I want to share with each of you…

I was reading recent news on WCSH6.com when I clicked on an article from a few months ago: Mother Shares Painful Story Of Consequences Of Distracted Driving. My heart breaks for this family. A beautiful young woman taken much too soon. As I read the story a piece stood out to me that Mrs. Bouchard is trying to educate people. Her daughter was not carrying  an ID with contact information about next of kin and it took police almost five hours to find her parents. By the time the Bouchards flew from Madawaska to Portland to get to the hospital, it was too late.

  • -If you have a cell phone you should have an ICE [In Case of Emergency] contact
  • -The American Ambulance Association has created invisibleBracelet.org where you will register your medical information on line and ICE contact information. Membership is $5.00 per year. It is NOT available in all areas as of yet, but it looks like they are working hard to make this available nationwide. Peace of mind for $5.00 a year! You can guarantee I will be registering my children when it is available to us.
  • -Generate a FREE Medical Emergency Information Card, prints out into a wallet size.

Until later, here’s to a wonderful weekend!

Log Your Memory, and a 2010 Layout share!!

Everyday Life,Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping | Wednesday 6 January 2010 11:55 pm

Have you heard of Log Your Memory? I purchased the 2010 pdf, and I am loving it!

I grabbed a half-inch 3 ring binder and printed out the January section only. When January is over I will move my pages into a bigger three ring binder and print out February and add the half-inch binder, and so on.

Here is my layout that I created for the Week #1 Challenge

I rec’vd a request to send a family recipe for a family members recipe album. I’ve been thinking about it and today I designed a sweet apron and recipe card, and have an idea for the recipe. Hoping to finish and drop in the mail before the end of this week.

Speaking of recipes, I’m working on next months monthly menu, and have been searching for some new recipes, specifically for once a month cooking for the freezer. Once I pull it all together I’m going to attempt to have a monthly Menu and Freezer Recipe post to share.

While I’m thinking about my menu, Woman’s Day has a great article entitled: What Do Your Refrigerator Doors Say About You? I would be between #2 and #3. Will have to make a mental note to tidy the frig a bit!

Have you visited Woman’s Day Happiness Blog? I’ve been following since December and look forward to the entries.

I have a lot that I have to accomplish tomorrow, so I’m going to close and find myself up to bed. Until tomorrow…
