Remembering, and LOST!

Everyday Life | Monday 31 May 2010 6:31 pm

Hello Friends, and a very Happy Memorial Day,today we remember the past and present heroes who sacrifice so much for us…

It’s been a lazy day here today. Just Keith and I, hanging out, grilling, and simply enjoying the quiet of the day. I have to work tonight, so needless to say I don’t have too much energy or ambition.

I am still pretty LOST. Mostly due to the fact that I have missed a lot of episodes, and during Season 6 I saw one episode for a few minutes, and the last episode I woke up during the last 20 minutes or so. I am planning on starting at the very beginning, and watching 0ne episode at a time until I make my way to the end…

I am sad that LOST is over. It seems sex, crudeness, ridiculous reality shows, etc, are the norm. LOST made you think, wonder, and be curious, without the sex, crudeness, etc. I’ll miss you LOST, it was a wonderful ride!!

Etc:

  • If you own a Gypsy, there are some new upgrades for us.
  • Sharon doesn’t know this yet, but we need to pull out our square project and begin…will be sharing pictures.

Well, thats about it. I need to find myself showered, dressed, and hitting the interstate for a night of walking the halls. Until next time.

…survival and thriving

Everyday Life,Simple Living | Sunday 30 May 2010 5:56 pm

“Survival and thriving. These are the poles between which the moments of our lives are strung.  The balance is tenuous, and the outcome for each of us is different. Yet we mostly start with the same raw stuff: skin, a mother, food, shelter, breath, and each moment as it unfolds — one after the next — right now. From these all the intricacies of our lives are made. No matter who you are, your day is occupied with the small repetitive tasks of living,  and it’s in these moments that we’re shaped; even as we’re dreaming of other things.” — Christina Rosalie, A Field Guide to Now

Looking UP

Everyday Life,Simple Living | Friday 28 May 2010 11:12 am

Kolette Hall had a great post about Looking UP

I have to admit that I have been so busy looking forward that I have forgotten to take the moment to look UP!

When I take the moment to slow down, and look up, I am grateful for all that I have in my life. A beautiful home, a beautiful marriage to my bestfriend and soulmate, a career where I am able to touch peoples lifes and make differences, and make a good living for myself and my family, three beautiful and healthy children that have completed my life and made me whole, and strong friendships. Some of my life fortunes are due to hard work and a lot of sacrifices, and some due to a higher power, …and a number of angels surrounding me…

What do you see, when you look up?

QUick recap

Everyday Life,Oliver,Simple Living | Wednesday 26 May 2010 2:50 pm

I’m alive. Well kinda.

The night shift is totally kicking my butt. Work. Sleep. In a nutshell that’s my life. And you know, I have 101 things to do, and 101 things that I wanna do!!

Quick recap:

One of the Nurses from work, Karen, and I went yardsaling together. A huge 10 mile long yardsale at that!! We had a blast, and both of us spent very little money, and made out like bandits. Here’s a glimpse at just a few of my goodies.

This will be going into my Art STudio to hold embellishments, etc ontop of my work table. Cost: $3.00

Primitive Rooster, Candle warmer. Cost: $2.00

Set of three decorative plates. Cost: $2.00

I was the photographer at my best girl Wendy’s, daughter, Hannahs wedding…and yes, I cried.

A trip to Portland, and an over night at Old Orchard Beach

and of course…our boy, Oliver.

Well there’s a small sneak peek into my life over the past few days…

Until next time.

MY News…

Everyday Life,RN Journey | Thursday 20 May 2010 6:07 pm

It is not how much you do, but how much love you put in the doing. -Mother Theresa

About a week ago I applied for a Supervisory position and the other morning I found out that I received the position. I am excited, and nervous at the same time, as well as grateful to be given this opportunity.

I woke up this morning at 7am completely confused…I came downstairs and remarked to Keith that I didn’t even remember going to bed last night. Keith says, “that’s because you didn’t go to bed last night…” huh? Well, I went up to bed a bit before noon yesterday and never woke up until 7am this morning!! NOT good!! Not only did a loose another entire day of my life, but I woke up feeling just as exhausted as I always do. Of course, I got a little cranky about this and a bit angry at Keith for not waking me up. I can’t be allowed to sleep that long…not good! Ugh.

Etc.

  • Working on ideas for a themed night of scrapbooking here in my home with my closest girls. Anyone have any theme ideas?
  • Need to rent a storage unit so I can begin packing up the house and place in storage. So anxious to make this move. Hoping the house won’t be on the market long.
  • Must make sure we have dollar bills with us the next time we visit the mall for the photo booth.
  • Oliver needs another grooming. Need to call and schedule an appointment this week.
  • Need to find a bit of mojo for some layouts that I have to create if I want to be published, again.
  • I noticed this afternoon when I ran out for a quick errand that the front garden is already becoming overgrown with weeds. Ugh…need to spend some time prettying the garden up.

Oh…much more I could write, but I must find myself in the shower and getting ready to hit the interstate for another night at work. Until next time…I hope your day has been a great one!!

DAte-Day

Everyday Life,Family,Oliver,Simple Living | Monday 17 May 2010 4:23 pm

For a long time Keith and I always had a “Date Day”, which was usually Tuesdays. No specific plans…just a day of enjoying each others company, sometimes a hike, sometimes just running errands.

Today, we were able to have our first Date-Day in a very long time it seems. I had a couple of errands that I wanted to run, so in between a trip to the mall to visit Victoria’s SecretTarget, and Borders, then walked the trails at Cascade Park. Oliver of course had a great time at Cascade Park. A trip to the U Maine Museum of Art, then lunch.

A beautiful day and I cannot wait until our next Date-Day, next week.

Here’s a few random pictures:

Tonight starts a new 2-week round at work. Sunday morning I finished with 100 hours. Amazing how it feels like a 1,000 hours!! I am getting old, I think! Working 7p-7a tonight, so for here I am going to run along so I can iron my scrubs and get ready to head out the door. Talk to you later. Here’s to a beautiful week ahead of us.
