Hello Friends, and Happy Saturday!!

Because you all know I am a tad bit Unscripted…here is the card that I created using todays sketch.

As usual the Designers created gorgeous work. I hope you’ll stop by Unscripted and check out their work. Until later…

Sweet BAby Boy!!

Everyday Life,Family | Wednesday 12 May 2010 7:02 pm

Introducing Logan. The newest little guy to enter our family.

The facility that I work at recognized the Nurses for Nurses Week, and here’s a few goodies that we were given in appreciation.

I’m listening to books on cd to help pass the time while driving to work, and home from work. I’ve finished James Patterson’s, 2nd Chance. On a scale of 1 being the best and 5 being the worse, I would give it a 3. Great plot, great ending. It just didn’t pull me in.

I’m now listening to Keith Ablow’s The Architect, and it is rocking, and I am wishing I had the actual book to read it right now…maybe I should go out to the driveway and get comfortable in the car? haha. Anyways, I am really enjoying Keith’s writing style.

It’s almost 7pm and I’ve only slept two hours today, and have a 16 hour shift tomorrow, so on that note, I am going to find my way up to bed. Until later.

Dream-ing…

Everyday Life | Tuesday 11 May 2010 5:40 pm

Hello Friends. Another crazy schedule. I have one night off this week. One 16 hour shift down. Two more to complete. Have I mentioned that I love my job?

Grown don’t mean nothing to a mother.  A child is a child.  They get bigger, older, but grown?  What’s that suppose to mean?  In my heart it don’t mean a thing. -Toni Morrison, Beloved, 1987

Happy belated Mother’s Day to each of you. I came home to a bouquet of roses, and a beautiful card. I have to admit I miss the years past when I would receive homemade works of art from the kids when they were in elementary school…yep, just when you think you are on the homefront, out of no where, the emotions of being an empty-nester sneaks up on you.

Here’s a peek at the first batch of flowers I’ve purchased. Can’t wait to get my back deck pulled together and filled with flowers.

Well friends, I have to find myself taking a quick nap before I head out for another night of work. Until next time.

Beginnings of a NEw Week

Everyday Life,Simple Living | Monday 3 May 2010 5:22 pm

Good Morning Friends, and Happy Monday. Coffee is beside me and The Sopranos is just starting.

Some time ago I had a weekly blog entry on Sundays that I called {Simply Sunday}. I really enjoyed throwing it together, and at the same time it was a good reference point for me to look back on, etc. I have decided I am going to bring this back, just not sure if it will be every Sunday…so be on the watch for it’s return.

House progress and Today STuff:

  • The bathroom is officially completely repainted, and the new light fixture has been installed. Next step is to put up the wainscoting, add the trim above the wainscoting and put the baseboard back on and she’s done other than the final touches of new shower curtain, and curtains for the window.
  • Upstairs/Downstairs hallway is completely de-wallpapered. What a job that was reaching up above the staircase.
  • Gave Oliver a bath this morning. I read an article recently that 125 calories are burnt giving a dog a bath. Well…all I have to say is that they haven’t given Oliver a bath, because I know that I burnt quadruple that amount of calories!
  • Made a trip over to Silkweeds this afternoon…such a charming store. Have my eye on a few things that I ‘have’ to have.
  • Surprised to see the price of gas has risen to $2.91/gallon. Ouch!!

For here I am going to close to run along for a quick nap before I have to head to work…until next time, here’s to a great week ahead of us!!

Lazy SUnday…

Everyday Life | Sunday 2 May 2010 6:15 pm

It’s a lazy, lazy Sunday here. Watching HGTV for some ideas on hopefully selling our house quickly once it goes up on the market. Renovations happening and I need to find the energy/ambition to rent a storage unit and begin packing and storing to prepare for staging for the showings once the house is listed.

Can you believe that we have entered May? Overall we had a pretty mild winter, and tho I am not missing the cold or the snow, I can’t believe how fast this past winter seemed to begin and come to an end.

This’n That

  • Gypsies Journal says I can do this. I can picture a gorgeous one created in pink!!
  • Came across Leslies‘ blog filled with inspiration.
  • Ashley is a Prison Nurse with a fun style, and I am loving her new tat! Makes me wanna hurry up and get another.
  • Loving Stephanie’s necklaces!!

So much to do, and as usual time is passing by much too quickly. Time to get a move on it. Until next time.
