It’s the little things…

Everyday Life,Family,Simple Living | Saturday 26 June 2010 10:17 pm

Like each of you can probably relate to, sometimes my life feels like it is out of control. 101 things to do, and than add in work, and good grief there just isn’t enough hours sometimes. As my life gets busy, sometimes days…and weeks, will go by before I am able to take the time to enjoy everything around me…then suddenly something as little as this will catch my eye, and it reminds me how blessed I am…

Because Somedays Are Diamonds

As I am attempting to peek into those who joined in on the Where Bloggers Create Blog Party, I came across Karen’s blog: Some Days Are Diamonds and noticed her call out for Bloggerette Sorority Sisters, and I thought I’d join in.

Here is the RUSH that I created. I am blessed to share my life with the most beautiful, strong, intelligent, and creative women that anyone could ever hope to know, so I used my girlies as my inspiration for this project…

And well, because said we had to be in the picture also, here I am holding my creation [wonder if Karen knows that I prefer to be 'behind' the camera?!]

Until later…Have a beautiful day everyone!

Father’s Day 2010

Everyday Life,Family,Oliver,Simple Living | Sunday 20 June 2010 2:01 pm

…a low key day here for Father’s Day. I asked Keith if he wanted to do anything special, and even offered to take him to Borders, and he said he had no special plans and had already visited Borders last week, and Amazon.com last night, so we packed a picnic lunch and ended up going to the beach…

I am blessed…and I am thankful for the little moments like these to remind me…

Welcome to my Art STudio

Blog Party,Everyday Life,Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping | Saturday 19 June 2010 12:54 am

Welcome to my little Art STudio located in Bucksport, Maine.

My Art STudio is located in our sunroom off our livingroom. The 8×12 size, and limited wall space due to its 7 windows have had some disadvantages, but I’ve grown to love, and appreciate my little space over the years.

We are in the process of putting our home on the market to move closer to my work as the 1 and 1/2 hour drive one way is becoming more difficult for me. I am not sure if I will be able to have a complete room of my own when we leave our home behind, so I am downsizing considerably, and trying to focus on what I truly need to ‘create’, and a ‘few’ items that make me ‘happy’ and have an important meaning to me.

I probably should mention in my diningroom there is an antique steamer trunk, and an antique armoire filled to the rim with more scrapbook goodies.

Well, I hope you enjoy your visit, and I hope to maybe inspire you!!

..looking into my Art STudio from the livingroom..

…my newest addition found via Craigs List, an antique Library Card Catalog Cabinet, the owner told me it is from Allenstown, PA and had been in storage for a number of years prior to his purchasing it…

…a few things that make me happy…

…a peek inside one of the drawers…

…keeping focused on our goal of visiting Paris…

…stand to hold printer and house router, 4 drawer container holds photos, and notice scrapbook rolling tote and bag in corner prepared if I have a chance to scrapbook outside of my studio…the xxl rolling tote is in the attic!…

…shelf above the stand…

…love suitcases. each filled with mini albums, stickers, paper, punches, rubberstamps, etc…

…bookcase…

…front view…

…Isabella, an antique dress form that I practically stole from an antique store [ie: I couldn't afford the price and asked the owner if the price negotiable...it sure was, and she practically gave her to me!]

…close up of Isabella…

…my worktable…

…antique jam/jelly wire rack…

…a reminder to live out loud!…

…looking from front of room…

…one last look…

And seriously, my Art STudio is NEVER this clean! My work table was so cluttered I must admit that some of the junk is still sitting on top of my diningroom table, and I have no idea what to do with it.

THings I need/want, to put the finishing touches on my Art STudio:

Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed taking a peek into my little Art STudio, and I look forward to peeking in yours…Here’s to a beautiful weekend filled with much love, and happiness…

Be still my HEART!!

Everyday Life,Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping | Saturday 12 June 2010 5:16 pm

It’s been a long day. Worked all night, then after work this morning headed down to Portland with my youngest boy, sister and her friend and came home with this beautiful piece of furniture…a Vintage Library Card Catalog Cabinet.

I am so excited to store a lot of my scrapbooking/rubberstamp goodies inside of it. I am so happy with the way my STudio is coming together…now, if only I had the time to scrapbook/rubberstamp. I have a list of a few more antique items that I want/need, and hoping to find them soon!!

Well, I just wanted to share my new ‘lovey’! I’m going to run along to do some more organizing in my STudio. More pictures to come soon. Have a wonderful weekend friends!!
