Time & Life…and pink flamingos

Everyday Life,Simple Living | Friday 30 July 2010 5:53 pm

Time, and life continue to get in my way of updating my blog, and I don’t forsee it changing, anytime soon.

Neighbors down the road have a  beautiful wildflower garden in front of their home and while walking by a few days ago noticed the metal pink flamingos behind the coneflowers…

Trying to pull the house together to get myself organized, and situated, all the while wishing I had a little more ambition/energy as it would go much faster, and easier. Sure do wish that maid would knock on the front door!

In an attempt to be more practical, I have been downloading a weekly calendar and have been writing our families goals related to house, etc, for the week for Keith, Matthew and myself, and I have to tell you that it is working very well.

Well on that note, I need to run along. Time is ticking, and I still have a few things I would like to attempt to accomplish before I have to head out to work. Here’s to a wonderful weekend friends!

Christmas in July

Blog Party | Sunday 25 July 2010 7:05 pm

Hello Friends, and welcome to my part in Unscripted Sketches, Christmas in July theme.

I had grand ideas of creating a beautiful project, but well, life, and procrastination got in the way, so instead I am going to do an Unscripted post filled with randomness ideas, and good-stuff.

I love the idea of adding a personal item to the present, endless possibilities. Here my mother-in-law added a small ceramic doll outfitted with my birthmonth color and birthstone [September-sapphire].

Thanks for visiting me, and I hope you’ve enjoyed Unscripted Sketches Christmas in July theme that Sarah Kaye has worked so hard putting together, and organizing!

Here’s to a wonderful Christmas 2010 ahead of us.

MOnday, MONday!

Everyday Life,Simple Living | Monday 19 July 2010 4:21 pm

Happy Monday Friends! One [small] good thing about working the weekend is I have Monday night off.  I can’t say that I’ve gotten much accomplished today so far, but I did make it to the dentist and found out I have a few cavities, spoke to my advisor and found out that I have to take a Masters level Nursing Statistics class, and worked on the front garden for a few minutes…Yeah, working on the garden was to feed my soul to make up for the cavities and statistics class.

Ramblings…

  • Good Stuff at Maya Road, numerous things that I want…I mean ‘need’.
  • Because I get lost, easily, and have heard good things about the Garmin, I’m thinking she’ll be an upcoming purchase. Wish they came in different colors–a pink one would be sweet!
  • Want that new tattoo. ’nuff said!

Well, there’s much more on my mind, and a lot more I would love to say, but it breaks down into 1. I really need to get something accomplished, and 2. If I spoke what was on my mind I would surely piss a few people off…and well since I prefer to be drama-free I will continue to keep particular thoughts to myself.

Here’s to a beautiful week full of good stuff, and lot’s of accomplishments and happiness for each of us.

THis Nest

Everyday Life,Family,Simple Living | Friday 16 July 2010 4:51 pm

Never fails. Stress, and exhaustion intensifies the sadness I feel of my [almost] empty nest. The miles between my daughter and I is a constant lump in my throat and absolute sadness. I miss my children. My babies. And would do anything to go back in time…

Grown don’t mean nothing to a mother. A child is a child. They get bigger, older, but grown. In my heart it don’t mean a thing.- Toni Morrison

Love your babies…

In THe Garden

Everyday Life,Simple Living | Thursday 15 July 2010 4:27 pm

Hello Friends, and Hello Thursday!! Another week flying by.

Went out in the front garden for a few minutes earlier and snapped some pictures, straight out of my camera with the exception of a border and my name added to the photo. I think they are absolutely beautiful!

The garden needs some loving and attention as the weeds are/have overtaken. I bought some more coneflowers, and black eyed Susans the other day to add to the garden. I love the looks of a wild-flower garden.

Other STuff:

  • Made an appointment for Oliver to have a microchip implanted. God forbid we ever lost him, but you just never know! He is pretty good at coming to you when you call his name, but I don’t want to take the chance, especially since Keith and I enjoy taking daytrips with him.
  • TV exploded this morning. Yep. Let’s see what the next two things are going to be. Or, am I actually on #2? Hmmm…
  • Planning a picture wall at the top of the landing upstairs. Purchased more frames yesterday, and thinking about what photos that I want to hang up. Will take a photo when the wall is completed.

Well friends, I have to seriously think about taking a nap while I have a few extra hours to sneak in before I have to hit the road for work. Take care, and I’ll talk to you later.

Crazy Life, Crazy Times

Everyday Life,Simple Living | Monday 12 July 2010 3:50 pm

Kolette offered this free download on her blog, and it spoke to my heart. My life is crazy, but thru each crazy moment I am blessed to have five constant people in my life that make me who I am, push me to be the best that I can be, and remind my soul, that they complete me and make me whole. I am truly blessed.

…[K, T, R, M and R]…

Speaking of crazy…It has been crazy hot here, [not used to this heat wave for this long length of time], and I have found it very difficult to sleep during the daytime. Not fun, especially when you are exhausted and have a 1 and 1/2 hour drive to work, then a 1 and 1/2 hour drive home. Just another lesson learned in my life. But, considering that Boston got hit with flash floods the other day, it could always be a lot worse!

Ramblings:

  • It’s officially, official. I have been accepted into a Masters Degree in Nursing Program, and I begin the three year journey in September.
  • I recently purchased BLOOM: A Woman’s Journal for Inspired Living. Another wonderful example of living an authentic life by looking deep inside of ourselves while we journal from the heart and soul by answering numerous questions.
  • ohhh…Have you seen the news about the release of the Stampmaker? I am patiently waiting for it’s release!! I already have 101 ideas for stamp images!!
  • Slowly working in my Art STudio. Decluttering and Reorganizing, and filling up my library card cabinet. Doubtful that this task will ever end. Need to play more and organize/clean less!
  • I came across a few recipes that I plan on trying in the very near future and thought I’d share them with you: Sweet and Sour Chicken, Restaurant Copycat: Wendy’s Chili, and of course…KFC Copycat Biscuit

Time is ticking by, and I need to attempt to take a nap before I have to head out of here for work. Here’s to a wonderful week ahead of us!
