Madness…and short ramblings…

Everyday Life | Wednesday 22 September 2010 5:36 pm

We get phrases you know and we even become known by them. Be careful of what you say. -Maya Angelou

I am appalled and absolutely speechless over this newest madness: The Policeman vs The Nurse. It’s interesting the entire ‘situation’ was not reported. So. Let me get this straight. Nurse driving down road. Pulled over by a policeman. Nurse rolls down window and looks at policeman and says, “I hope you are not ever my patient.” Nurse is off duty, not within the campus property and she is fired. It will be interesting to see if the ANA has any comments. My thoughts written in nursing short hand…

Yesterday I attended an Intro to Business workshop and learned so much. I have started working on the skeleton of my business plan, and hopeful that October 2011 I will be able to announce exactly what I am up to.

Pot Roast has been in the crock pot all day. It smells delicious and I just cannot wait for supper. I have blood work drawn this morning and tomorrow will begin [another] new medication in an attempt to simmer down this damned Fibromyalgia. I have been flaring horribly for 7 months now, and I just want it to end. Fingers crossed that this medication may be the ‘one’.

I could go on and on with more ramblings, but supper is awaiting! Until later…

A new Week, A new MOnday

Everyday Life | Monday 20 September 2010 7:24 pm

Hello Friends, and Hello to a new week ahead of us.

A few happenings in my everyday life:

  • Happy I found my glasses. While trying to read the other night it appeared the words were floating across the page, and were fuzzy. I decided to grab my reading glasses, and what a difference. Yep. Thinking it’s time to revisit the eye doctor related to the changes. Guess it’s all down hill from here now that 43 has knocked on my door.
  • I found out I am going to be an Auntie again. And…it’s a girl. Keith and I are already, Uncle and Auntie to: Brandi, Lance, Stephanie, Russell, Zachary, Roland, Samantha, Brooke, Harley, Caleb, Bryce and Logan…and now we’re going to add another girl to our family. I’m thrilled, and excited to purchase pink/girly goodies. Just reminds me, I was so excited to hear the news, I forgot to ask the due date of our little princess.
  • Matthew and I worked on breaking down the front garden this afternoon. Always breaks my heart to see my gorgeous coneflowers begin to die off, but knowing they will return next year bigger and stronger makes me anxious to see them again.
  • Today is Week 3 of Statistics. I have completed my reading for the week, and have my paper just about completed for my reasearch article, and interestingly, I haven’t complained…and the reading was easier to understand. I better knock on wood quick, it could be a trick!
  • Finally pulled out the scanner Keith ordered for me [months ago] and have started scanning old photos, and memorabilia from when the three kids were in school. My plans are to create a family tree book via shutterfly or similar for each of the kids.
  • My mother gave me a couple of the 7 Gypsies Book Bras and I am in love!! I am using mine to hold the pages I’ve already ready in my text books…thinking I need a dozen more. And yes, I looked at it and wondered, “why didn’t I think of that?!”

  • Isn’t it funny how sometimes its truly the ‘little things’ in life that make you happy.
  • I am about to begin a one-year plan to work towards a specific goal that I have, and I begin the first step tomorrow by attending a workshop. I am looking forward to networking and meeting new people who have similar ambitions as myself.

Busy day tomorrow so for here I must run along…here’s to a wonderful week ahead  of us.

Quick Hello

Everyday Life | Sunday 19 September 2010 6:35 pm

ahhh…total laziness. Keith attended a comic book convention earlier today and Oliver and I were sprawled out on the couch watching movies, and napping while he was gone.

These are the remainder from our tomato container garden on our back deck. Hopefully next year I’ll have a little more energy and ambition to do more vegetables and flowers.

Funny share!! A sweet friend Beate, sent me this link as she feels Oliver needs a Lederhose [remember Minature Schnauzers originated from Germany]. I definetly think Oliver needs one, and especially a matching hat!!

Hope your weekend has been a great one. This day is closing in and I have a few more things to attempt to accomplish before I find myself sleeping. Until later…here’s to a wonderful, happy, and productive week ahead of us.

FRiends…

Everyday Life,Simple Living | Friday 17 September 2010 5:40 pm

Yesterday Keith and I met for lunch with two of our friends, Nikki and Rick, and a visit to peruse around an antique store on our way home. I couldn’t have asked for a better day.

So much to accomplish this weekend…and I hope I am able to conquer a few of the things on that never ending to-do list. Here’s to a beautiful weekend! Until next time…

He’s a CHick Magnet!!

Everyday Life | Tuesday 14 September 2010 5:24 pm

A little homework, a little television, and a whole lot of laptop cleaning out! My inbox had over 3,000 emails. How did I allow that to happen? Working my way thru my Favorites…mostly deleting as I can’t seem to figure out why I saved half of the sites, not to mention a number that were no longer active sites. And in the midst of this, I’m pecking away at my bedroom that seriously looks like a teenage girl has been living in it! And finally, I took a minute for a quick photo shoot of my personal little Chick Magnet.

Life is good, and I am blessed.

Weekend LOve

Everyday Life,Simple Living | Sunday 12 September 2010 9:53 pm

There are three kinds of liars. Liars, damn liars, and people who use statistics. -Mark Twain

I bet from the above quote you can probably tell that I am not much enjoying this Statistics class. Finding myself re-reading each paragraph that I have already read in an attempt to get some of this info into the few brain cells that I have reserved for anything remotely related to math.

I’m sure I’ve mentioned it time and time again, but this is my favorite time of the year. I love September. The crisp smells in the air, the leaves beginning to turn gorgeous colors, and I love decorating my home. I do not decorate specifically for Halloween. There may be a few things Halloween’ish, but overall it’s pumpkins and orange and brown that take us into November. Need to get things pulled together in my house so I can make my way up to the attic to pull out my fall decorations.

It’s been a very laid back, quiet weekend here. Lots of netflix movies, and relaxation. I hope your weekend was a great one also!

-Jenny
