hahaha…tell me that I’m not the only one with the tune to Welcome Back Kotter in my head now. Crazy how typing two words like Welcome Back immediately sent me back to the late 70′s and remembering my love for Vinnie!
A friend recently gave me this beautiful framed piece telling me that she believes that all nurses should keep these words in mind. I totally agree!
I’ve been missing around this ‘ole blog again. What’s been happening in my life? I resigned from my Supervisory position agreeing to remain as per diem staff. I resigned from my new position the day before I was to begin orientation on the floor, and accepted a position at a local Psychiatric Hospital. I begin work Monday morning, and I am nervous, and excited at the same time. In the meantime I’ve been picking up per diem hours at my previous job, including a couple 3p-7a shifts, that I have come to the conclusion that I am just too old for! My new job will be three-twelve hour shifts versus five-eights. Hoping this work schedule may allow me to have a small piece of my life back, not to mention my drive time will be less than thirty minutes vs the 1.5 hrs one way to my previous job! Yeah, 7 months and almost 29,000 miles on my 7 month old car driving 3 hours per shift. Looking back, I just don’t know how I did it, it was truly physically draining.
3 weeks remaining of my Research Statistics class, and seriously thinking that I just may survive.
This has been a Stampin Up week for me! My mom gave me the first set, last Saturday morning on the way home I stopped at two yard sales and found the other two sets, and I purchased the bottom set from Etsy, which I was super excited about as this set has been on my wish list for sometime. I am thinking these new stamp sets may give me that mojo I need to find my way into my beautiful studio that sits empty way too often, and hoping to sneak some time in to read The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People that was recommended to me by one of my mentors.
Until tomorrow, here’s to a beautiful weekend ahead of us!

Jen…on your way to a highly effective life…
the book is very good and has some valuable insights for everyone.
One valuable peice of advice I got was to have time for ones self…
and it almost has to be blocked into your calendar, and “rescheduled” if life gets in the way:
SCHEDULE FOR ALONE TIME:
*** One hour a day
*** one day a month
*** one week a year
The time is to be used for relaxation or what ever relaxes you and gets you grounded again.
Good luck in your new job…a start in the right direction of time management and getting time for what matters.
