Saturday FUn, and Ramblings…

Everyday Life,Simple Living | Saturday 9 October 2010 7:42 pm

Hello Friends and Happy Saturday. Here on the East Coast it was a beautiful and busy day. Keith and I went to the Searsport Fling into Fall Event this morning, watched the parade and walked around, having a great time.

And…an outing would not be complete without our self-portraits! Always good for a good laugh..or two, as I am trying to get Keith into the picture.

I’ve been thinking a lot about my families financial debt. Mind you I always have, but the past year it has been more so. My college loan repayment is pretty sizable at  an over $800.00 per month loan payment. Which will increase, now that I am in the Masters program and adding another $25,000 to my tab. [man, it's painful thinking about the adding of more college loan debt]  Needless to say adding in mortgage payment, car payment, insurance, monthly living expenses, etc our bills put a lot of stress on me when I begin thinking about them and the thought of ‘what if I lost my job’, [and I am sure my husband feels the same way also]. So, this weekend I am going to begin concentrating on how we can become debt free as fast and painless as possible. Notice I am thinking in terms of ‘fast’ and ‘painless’, but of course, more importantly, realistically. I have been doing some searches and this afternoon we stopped into Borders and I purchased The Financial Peace Planner by Dave Ramsey.

Links specifically related to getting out of debt that I have found:

I also picked up a new dayrunner as I wanted to consolidate and be better organized. Okay truth be told, I am coming to the conclusion that I am about as addicted to dayrunners as I am to totebags, and purses. While looking for a new book to read specifically for work I found Me, Myself, and Them written in the first person that I believe may be more beneficial for me as I begin this new journey as a psychiatric nurse. And finally…Keith and I stopped in to wish my little godson Jacob a Happy 1st Birthday. Cannot believe that a year has passed us by already.

I’m a bit behind, but I am loving the 31 Days of Change:  31 Days to a Less Messy Nest at The Nesting Place, 31 Days to Stress Free Entertainment at The Reluctant Entertainer, 31 Days to a Better Photo at Life with my 3 Boybarians, 31 Days to More with Less at Balancing Beauty and Bedlam, 31 Days to Autumn Bliss at The Inspired Room, 31 Days of Living Simply at Remodeling This Life, 31 Days to an Inspired Table at My First Kitchen, and 31 Days of Grace at Chatting at the Sky.

Well friends, I am going to close down here so I can get comfortable and open my new book. Until tomorrow…I hope your Saturday has been a beautiful one!
