St. Catherine, and MY Kindle!

Everyday Life,On my bookcase/In my Kindle | Thursday 21 October 2010 8:41 pm

Because I have tendancies of being superstitious. Because I believe in spirits — good and bad. And because that hospital is over a century old, and each night I am hearing ‘stories’…I now have St. Catherine of Siena, the patron Saint to Nurses to protect me. Now, I am wondering if the medal was blessed!?

I finished another book last night…Welcome to My Country by Lauren Slater. A beautiful memoir of a few clients that not only touched Lauren Slaters life, but whom she touched as well. W. Hall, G. Andrews, and G. Goldstein state: Schizophrenia is to psychiatry what cancer is to medicine: a sentence as well as a diagnosis.” How deeply sad this description truly is.

Here’s my newest love…The Kindle. I love the portability, the fact that it can hold up to 3,000 books at one time, and…not to mention I am saving a tree or two per year. I’ve already been downloading books and have a great variety of reading ahead of me.

I am going to attempt to take a quick power nap before I have to head out for night 4 of 5. So until later…
