It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air. -W.T. Ellis

For years it was the kids who would rearrange the ornaments on the Christmas tree. Now. It’s the cats. Not too sure as to what exactly takes place here at night when the cats and dog are alone, but it’s pretty obvious that they are concentrating on rearranging the tree.

I am getting so excited for Christmas. Keith and I thought out and planned the gifts that we will be giving to Family/Friends, and honestly, I am so excited for their reactions, and hopefully they will appreciate them.

It has taken me awhile but I have finally realized my lack of enthusiasm for Christmas over the years was truly because of my own personal loss of of my grandparents. I’ve said it often that holidays just are not the same without them, and I have done nothing but pout, and be miserable. This year I decided that I would honor the memories of my grandparents and begin enjoying, and more importantly…be grateful for the memories that I have.

Watching It’s a Wonderful Life with Keith. One of my favorite Christmas stories. My absolute favorite is A Christmas Story.

Ramblings:

  • If you are looking for a doctor for your beloved vet, I highly recommend Dr. Mark at Kindred Spirits. Mark sends out a weekly email and last night during some down time at work I attempted to get caught up in my email, and as usual Mark had me in tears. They have put together two sized gift bags with 100% of proceeds to support the efforts of Friends of Kindred Spirits (FKS).
  • Two more weeks remaining in my Issues and Trends in Nursing, and I just found out I am holding onto a 97.33. Yeah, I am just slightly excited that my GPA is rocking!!
  • Keith has been ordering some new furniture for his Art Studio, and has been organizing/cleaning up in there. So excited to see his room get pulled together, [and to look pretty].
  • FYI: be alittle extra cautious placing orders from people online. I am in a dispute with a seller on Amazon right now, over an item that I purchased as a Christmas present for my daughter Toni and have yet to receive. This is my first situation with an Amazon marketplace seller, and unfortunately it leaves a very bad taste in your mouth.
  • Yesterday was my parents 44th Wedding Anniversary. Now, how cool is that!!
  •  Have I mentioned lately how much I love my job? Changing jobs, and moving from Geriatric Nursing to Psychiatric Nursing was/is a HUGE culture shock, but I LOVE it. The modalities are so different, and I absolutely LOVE that I am able to talk to patients and help them work thru difficulties. Stressful, scary, and truly rewarding all bound together, and I wouldn’t change a thing! I am just so grateful to have this opportunity to fine tune the aspect of psych nursing.

I could keep rambling, but need to find myself snuggling with the boyfriend so I can finish watching It’s a Wonderful Life…because it truly is! Until tomorrow…
