Happy 2012…

Everyday Life | Monday 2 January 2012 10:08 pm

A belated Happy New Year to each of you.

One Little Word: after a lot of thought, and the tossing around a lot of words, I have chosen balance as my word for 2012.

bal·ance

 /ˈbæləns/  [bal-uhns]  noun, verb, -anced, -anc·ing.

1. a state of equilibrium or equipoise; equal distribution of weight, amount, etc. 2. something used to produce equilibrium; counterpoise. 3. mental steadiness or emotional stability; habit of calm behavior, judgment, etc. 4. a state of bodily equilibrium.
I chose the word balance as my  OLW due to the decision to carry forward three resolutions from 2010…
Resolutions/Twenty Wishes…no matter what you call them: I create unrealistic resolutions for myself, and I fail miserably. In 2010 I chose three resolutions, and have decided to carry them forward for 2012;
  • Embrace my family and friends with more love, more patience, and more time together.
  • Live my life greener, healthier, simpler, happier, fuller.
  • Enjoy each moment and blessing of today.

To achieve each of these wishes, I have to figure out how to find the appropriate balance in my life. The balance of the right amount of sleep, work, time spent on homework…I am sure as you are reading this you are well aware of what I am talking about. Sadly, I am sure I will struggle at reaching/finding the balance that I so desperately need in my life.

Oh, my goodness! Do you want to see something really, really cool?

Remember, for Christmas I received this little baby…

I went out in front of my house and took these two following photos, without changing my position. I bet you can tell the photo that I used the zoom. This lens totally rocks, and I am looking forward to taking some amazing photos when we fly to South Carolina in a few weeks.

Well friends, it’s getting late, and for here I need to close down this laptop and find myself asleep. Here’s to a beautiful week ahead of us…

-Jenny
