Around Here…

Everyday Life | Friday 5 October 2012 8:50 pm

Ali Edwards invited readers to join in on a journaling prompt, and I thought it would be the push I needed to jumpstart this ‘ole blog of mine.

Wishing that time would slow down. There never seems to be enough time for all the day trips, and naps that I would like to take.

Preparing the house for our sons visit home prior to his deployment to Afghanistan. We are going to celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas, and his birthday while he is home. My heart aches at the thought of my child being placed in such danger. I know that I need to be strong, and need to pull myself together. Sometimes words are a lot easier than actions…

Enjoying the wonderful apple dishes Keith has been making. Apple pie, apple crisp, and apple jelly. Of course, I have to mention his absolutely delicious blueberry marmalade.

Reading Legal & Ethical Standards For Nurses. Sounds pretty dry huh? Actually, I have had a hard time putting the book down. Very interesting, and a very eye opening look into my world each shift. I am also reading Drums of Autumn the fourth book in the Outlander series.

Loving Ali Brustofski’s version of Titanium.

Trying to pull this house together. I am working on not only being organized, but also the decluttering my life.

Preparing to begin the final five classes of my masters degree. I am upset at myself for taking this leave of absence, as it now sets back my graduation date, but working full time, and the responsibilities of a full time, year round degree program truly proved to be too much for me, and I needed this break.

Remembering every day how blessed I am. A loving and supportive husband, three wonderful and healthy children, and the cutest damn miniature schnauzer in all the world.

Until next time…

-Jenny
