My Perfectly, Imperfect Everyday Life

I’m Jenny, and I am located on the East Coast.
I am happily married to Keith, and momma to three young adults, one princess and two rock stars–  25, 22 and 20. My oldest lives about half an hour from us, my middle is in the US Army, stationed in Georgia, and my “baby” left, and  then returned home. The “Empty Nest” has been one of the most difficult experiences, and I still find myself tearing up often…so I brought home a puppy! Oliver, a minature schnauzer.

Tidbits that make me who I am:
  • -I am a Registered Nurse working as a Psychiatric Nurse, and LOVE my job.
  • -I will graduate from Walden University with my Masters in Nursing, September 2013.
  • -I love photography and love mixed media: scrapbooking and rubberstamping. The smell of vanilla. Willow tree figurines. Shopping, and perusing antique stores. Decorating my home a shabby, vintage, cottage, country theme [yeah, I couldn't make up my mind on one or the other].
  • -I love to read self-help books.
  • -I BELIEVE.
  • -Music: well, that’s a tough one. Depending on my mood country/pop rock/oldies/jazz–I love just about everything!
  • -My absolute favorite color is pink.
  • -I despise drama.
  • -I pray for world Peace and Love, and hope someday categories of skin color, gender, sexual preference, religious choices will become obsolete and the only category will be “Human Being”.
  • -The smell of Ivory soap brings back wonderful memories of my childhood and my Nannie and Grampa.
  • -I have one sister and two brothers [I am the oldest].
  • -I love gerbera daisys.
  • -I surround myself with strong women.
  • -I [sometimes] swear like a pirate.
  • -I am addicted to french vanilla coffee!!
  • -I refuse to allow Fibromyalgia to control my life.
  • -I love my family–but have moments where I wouldn’t mind selling the whole lot of them!
  • -Day trips, picnic lunches and a good book are priceless.
  • -I strive to be the best person that I can be, and never be too quick to judge a person/situation.
  • -I’m 100% Virgo.
  • -I have two tattoos and looking forward to my next one.
  • -I need to find a 12-step program for the addiction of Coach purses.
  • -I don’t drink soda.
  • -Never had depression or anxiety until Nursing school.
  • -Addicted to Twilight, and I am Team Edward.
  • -Thinks Facebook is addicting.
  • -Always get Than/Then confused.
  • -I feel sorry for hateful people.
  • -Addicted to LOST, and so confused!
  • -I call Kiefer Sutherland my 2nd husband.
  • -I am an Auntie to 7 nieces, 7 nephews
  • -Life is good and I am blessed in my ‘Perfectly, Imperfect Life’.

    Hi Jenny!

I found your site after typing in “nursing waiting list”. I was looking to see what the average wait was for my program – I am on a 2 year list at the University of Maine. I am a CNA with a barely used BA in English/Anthrpology – stayed home with my children for 15 years and then found myself divorced. I went through CNA training so I could get by financially day to day with my two daughters. I am now remarried with a new baby, and soon to return to work as a CNA while waiting for my name to come up on the nursing wait list. I found your story inspiring and wanted to let you know – thanks! Cynthia

    Hi, JennyRN,

I found your calling card and thought I’d drop a line. Good luck with the job interviews. Something will happen. Sometimes things don’t happen on our schedule.

Love ya. See you at JUN.

    Jenny,
You are the strongest, funniest, best friend a person could ever had. I am so glad to have been able to cross paths with you! You are a wonderful Mommy and a truly awesome friend. We have a lot of fun together, especially when we go shopping:) That’s for you Keith!! I love reading your blog and you inspire me to want to do it, although I really haven’t worked on mine at all. Love ya girly!!

Hi just found your blog love it. I have a library card catalog just like yours. Mine came from Lancaster, PA library and I think I paid way too much for it. I have a question why my card catalog is in awesome shape (they thought it was from the 1950′s) I would love to paint/distress it-but fear I may destroy it. I am crazy about the color turquoise and in process of re-doing my scraproom. I’m thinking a creamy white with a brown wipe on off method. Have you ever thought about painting yours? Lisa in DE

Hi Jenny, Following you from Blog Frog. Great blog…great list and I feel like I know and love you so much better now! I am a social worker in a TCU…use to do the long term care side. Challenging work to say the least and nurses take a lot of the brunt of it from the families! Nice to “meet” you!!! :-) ~Kimberly

    Hi Jenny,
I love following your blog and take a peek as often as I can. I was drawn to your “all about me” link and couldn’t understand this strong need to do so. I read that you have Fibromyalgia and was almost brought to tears by your positive, upbeat personality that shone! I too have fibromyalgia, I too don’t drink soda, I too did not have anxiety until I returned to college for my BA of Psych (I just graduated in December) I am mom to five children (two adopted)and share in “-I love my family–but have moments where I wouldn’t mind selling the whole lot of them!” LOL Thanks for sharing a bit of you with us and for the inspiration you share through words and crafts! Best, Samantha

Jenny- Just read about your journey in nursing ed. I finished my Masters in Nursing in 2003 via the internet. It was a great program(Ball State University) but 3 long, hard years. Hang in there, kudos to you, best of luck. Beth Krakowski
