One World-One Heart 2010

Hello and welcome to This Everyday Life, where I share bits and pieces of My Perfectly, Imperfect Everyday Life. I am excited to be a part of the One World-One Heart 2010 Magic Carpet Blog Event, and I thank you for visiting me.

My name is Jenny and I am located on the East Coast where I live in the cold and snowy state of Maine. I am a Registered Nurse. Momma to three young adults, and an extremely spoiled 11 month old Minature Schnauzer, named Oliver, and wife to Keith. I enjoy playing in my Art STudio with all of my scrapbook and rubberstamp goodies, but doubtful that I will ever be caught up, or create everything on my to-do list. You can click here: All about me! to learn more about me.

Because this event is global, I wanted to offer a special giveaway with a theme that I felt would touch each person that enters my blog.

We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.  -Maya Angelou

“Just living is not enough,” said the butterfly, “one must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower.”  -Hans Christian Anderson

My One World-One Heart giveaway is the Willow Tree Freedom Angel.

UPDATE: Kristin Rutten, owner of Log Your Memory has generously donated one downloadable version of the Memory Logbook 2010 to our one lucky winner to be chosen on February 15th. A special thank you to Kristin.

Unscripted 2010 Blog Hop and Blog Candy

[please excuse the appearance of my new blog template, we are still working on the design and layout]

Today the Unscripted Design Team is hosting an Unscripted Blog Hop.

I hope that 2010 brings each of us, our families, and loved ones,

Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Everything Good!

The last few months of 2009 found me busy with life. Studying for the NCLEX exam, and stressing about the exam took up a lot of my life in my journey to become a Registered Nurse, but now I am ready to find my mojo and begin some scrappy projects!

In yesterdays post I have listed my Resolutions/Goals for 2010, and my word for 2010.

Project Share: As I am working on being better organized and getting rid of extra ‘stuff’. I went thru every scrapbook magazine that I had and ripped out ideas and things that caught my eye.

I cut out and glued everything down and added to a Rolodex.

It sits within reach on my worktable and I love it! I am planning on covering the dividers with patterned paper and labeling my sections. I freed up a huge amount of space on my bookcase. Love when an idea comes together!!

Blog Candy! Two sets of acrylic stamps and one acrylic clear mini block.

Sign up to follow my blog. Leave a comment in this post, and come back on Saturday, January 9th at 6pm EST to see if you are a winner! I will use Random.Org to choose the winner.

Be sure to stop by Jeryns Blog. Visit Unscriped Sketches for the list of all of the Designers participating in our 2010 Unscripted Blog Hop!

Have a wonderful day friends, and here’s to a beautiful 2010!

Blog Party,Everyday Life,Oliver | Saturday 3 October 2009 10:34 pm

Hey Friends, and a Happy Saturday to each of you!

Many are celebrating World Card Making Day today. My post from this morning can be found here, or just scroll down directly under this post. It’s certainly a wonderful idea to peruse blogs and get some inspiration while lounging in your pj’s at home.

Wendy at Ramblings from the Sunshine State is hosting a Paint Party and it’s not too late to join in on this great blog party! I had planned on joining in, but again, time just hasn’t been on my side.

I know this is going to sound random and you are probably going to scratch your head at a bit of this but…I’ve been a bit perplexed in the house decorating category as of lately. Then it came to me. Vintage Cottage. I can still have my distressed, perfectly imperfect pieces of furniture AND chandeliers!! So, that’s the random part…and here comes the scratching your head part–I even have the guest bedroom all created, in my head. Yeah, me, the momma who is still struggling with the empty nest situation is dreaming about having a guest room. Ideas, Links of interest…feel free to share them with me!

I came across a quote today in my travels:

Until one loves an animal, part of their soul remains unawakened

In my adult life I have always shared my life with a cat. But, I have to tell you, since bringing home Oliver in May, this little guy has truly awakened my soul. He is at my side, my shadow, my little partner in crime, and he absolutely makes my heart smile….well, except for moments like this when he has his head in the truck window with the wind blowing his fur slick back, not only am I laughing, but I am doing everything I can, not to wet my pants!! For today’s Camera Critters Meme

Well friends, Oliver needs to be walked and I need to get ready to find myself sleeping. Until tomorrow..

How’d Wednesday, and the last day of September sneak up on us so quickly? I hate to say goodbye to September because that puts us that much closer to those bad four-letter word: [cold] and [snow].

Two Blog Party/Meme’s for Today

JBP2009

Today at “I Want …. ” Wednesday the question is, What do you want to do outside? I want to get the gardens cleaned up for the season.

That’s My Answer! asks, Everything is [peachy].

Saturday STuff

Blog Party,Everyday Life,Oliver | Saturday 26 September 2009 5:16 pm

JBP2009

Happy Saturday Friends!! Matthew and I went to a few yardsales this afternoon, and this angel is one of the goodies that I found.

A number of years ago the kids and I worked on a wildflower garden outback as a little ‘remembrance garden’ for those loved one that we have lost. I have to admit that we did not keep up with it as good as we should have and the garden has since filled in with more weeds than wildflowers. When I saw this angel I knew right away that it would make a wonderful addition to that garden.

Ready for some blog parties/meme’s?

For Shadow Shot Sunday at Hey Harriet I was able to capture mine and Oliver’s  shadows. And let me tell you, this was not an easy feat as Oliver was occupied with the smells around him and the kids riding by on their bikes. I am going to use this shadow shot for my Project 365 photo today also.

JBP2009

Here’s a bit of Oliver for Camera Critters

JBP2009

Going to grab my to-do list and see what else I can get accomplished on it. Until tomorrow, I hope your Saturday is a beautiful one…
