Meal Planning, Couponing, and Friends!

Last night I finished our meal menu for the month of October. I choose to go very basic in our meal planning. No meat on Mondays, and a meat of choice for most nights, such as fish, chicken, turkey. This system seems to work the best for us. Next month we will be adding homemade soups/stews to the menu.

I worked on coupons last night, and after a trip to Shaws today saved $38.58. If you are wondering what the purple thing is with the disney princesses on it, it is actually a two-up photo album from Walmart. Costs about $2.00, and for me is perfect for coupons. I was carrying a 3-ring binder, and truthfully for me, this two up photo album is just perfect.

Coupon Share: McCormick Recipe Inspirations are on sale this week at Shaw’s for $1.29 [regular price, $1.89]. I used four/$1.00 off any one [1] McCormick Recipe Inspirations, so paid .29cents for each. We bought Rosemary Roasted Chicken with Potatoes, and Apple and Sage Porkchops.

This morning Keith and I met up with Beate, her husband Gary, and son, Nick, in Ellsworth. They are on holiday from the U.K. Beate and I met via facebook about two years ago, and there isn’t many days that go by that we don’t have something to say to one another.  A kind, beautiful woman, that I would love to have tea and biscuit with every morning!

Beate brought me two beautiful gifts. An antique tea cup and saucer, and a tea cup and saucer to commemorate the Prince Williams wedding. Again, thank you, Beate!

I have a busy week ahead of me, which includes Mandt recertification [ugh], and before I call it a night I have to attempt to get a few more things accomplished. Until later, here’s to a beautiful week ahead of us…

A bee is never as busy as it seems; it’s just that it can’t buzz any slower. -Kin Hubbard

I don’t run errands alone very often. Either one of the kids are with me, or Keith is with me, but today the boys all had plans so I headed to the big city for some shopping and a doctors appointment, alone. No time schedule, and no obligations to hurry up.

Love all the beautiful flowers, and colors!!

At Walmart I was able to use some coupons: Before coupons total: $68.29. After coupons total: $51.71. Free items: 3 packages of Ivory Soap, and 7 packages of Carefrees.

Finally, on the way home my youngest son, Matthew, met me at my favorite antique store.

Now tell me these two vintage salt and spice containers were not sitting there waiting for me! And yes, I bought them to add to my collection.

And be still my heart!! I can so picture this hanging above my stove! I just asked Keith if he can build me one, and he said he could.

In a nutshell this has been my lazy Monday. I hope your day has been a wonderful one also! Until later.

LAzy Saturday…

Get ready to have your heart melted. He is spoiled rotten [just like our three children], and is very fickle about having his photo taken [just like our three children].

I organized my coupon binder this morning and created categories that work for me. I may need to ‘tweak’ things around a little, but right now, the system is working…

 Saturday Ramblings:

It’s been an overcast damp day here, and I’m thinking it’s time for a shower and pj’s and maybe kick back with some homework for a few minutes. Until next time…

My sister, and I ended up spending a couple of hours together tonight, couponing at Walmart.

Total cost of above before coupons = $27.98

Total cost after coupons = 37 cents.

I’m awake and cannot sleep so I am going to work on building my coupon binder so I’ll be as organized as my sister is.
