Weekend FUn, [heavy on the pictures]…

Daytrips/Getaways,Everyday Life | Monday 21 May 2012 11:26 am

The weekend found us in Portland. We stayed at a beautiful Bed & Breakfast, Inn on Carleton, perused the city by foot, and attended the annual comic arts festival where Keith was a vendor.

Enjoying a picnic lunch on the way down by the water…

The Inn

Our room…absolutely charming!

Perusing the city of Portland

And then…there it was! A charming little Paris themed cafe!!

I cannot wait until our trip to [the real] Paris!!

Winding our weekend down…breakfast at the Inn…Umami.

further attempts at our self portraits…if Keith would cooperate, and the camera wasn’t so heavy and awkward, it would certainly make my life easier….

At the comic arts festival. Keith at his table…

…and where I met Rick Parker, the artist of Beavis and Butt-head. I now have my own personal Reggie/Matthew version of Beavis and Butt-head!

…and now we are back home, and I have to begin thinking about getting ready for the 3-11p shift today… [ugh]…Here’s to a beautiful week in front of us. Until next time…

Sunday, Sunday…

Daytrips/Getaways,On my bookcase/In my Kindle | Sunday 25 March 2012 4:06 pm

Woke up this morning and enjoyed a delicious breakfast; yogurt, granola, and fruit, and blueberry pancakes with a blueberry butter, absolutely delicious!

Visited Goodwill and found two new great books; The Psychiatry of AIDS: A Guide to Diagnosis and Treatment and Surviving Schizophrenia.

I found two Hallmark Keepsakes ornaments to add to our small tree in the diningroom at Christmas time.

We had plans on visiting a maple sugar farm this morning and unfortunately the directions did not take us where we were supposed to go. It began raining, and we decided to head home. Chili is in the crockpot, and we are getting ourselves ready for another week ahead of us. A beautiful weekend spent exploring with my husband. Must remember we need to begin doing this more often! Until next time, here’s to a great week ahead of us friends!

Rockland/Camden Getaway…

Daytrips/Getaways,Everyday Life | Saturday 24 March 2012 8:19 pm

I worked a 16hr shift yesterday, got home after midnight, and was awake at 0730 to begin our weekend getaway…

Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse; the causeway is 7/8 of a mile in length each way, and the walking is pretty treacherous. Unfortuntately the weather did not cooperate with our plans today and it was frigid out there on the water…but we were prepared, and had a great time. Looking forward to visiting again on a nice hot summer day!

Our usual self-portrait. In hopes that eventually we’ll get this process down straight [you should see the ones that did not make the cut!].

We walked, and walked, and walked, stopped for lunch, and walked some more. Stopped into RHEAL dayspa and bought some much needed bareMinerals. Love the little tote I received as a thank you for my purchase.

Stopped into a few antique stores, and the husband found a 1930′s ink well.

and finally, because of exhaustion we headed to Camden to the bed and breakfast that we reserved.

A charming suite, and now I am wanting to redecorate my own bedroom to make my own bedroom, just as charming.

Busy morning ahead of us. I’ll be back with more pictures tomorrow night. Hope your weekend is a beautiful one, friends.

Road Trip…

Daytrips/Getaways,Everyday Life | Friday 10 February 2012 8:55 pm

Whoever said money can’t buy happiness simply didn’t know where to go shopping.  -Bo Derek

My daughter, and I headed out early this morning for a road trip to the big city of Portland [about a 2.5 hr drive]. I love spending time with her, and was happy that we both had the day off today.

The Maine Mall

Pandora

Pottery Barn

Michaels

and finally, on the way home a stop into Freeport to Coach Factory

New pieces for my bracelet…

My bracelet with my new safety, and charms…

Coach didn’t have the tote bag that I am looking for, so instead I opted for this little card case in an attempt to prevent the loss of my drivers license/debit card, etc. I don’t carry my purse very often and typically toss my license/debit card in a pocket or my work bag, and needless to say I tend to spend a lot of time searching for the dang things.

On that note, I am now torn between going to bed so I will be semi-awake for work tomorrow…or making pumpkin chocolate chip muffins…hmmm. Here’s to a great weekend ahead of us friends!! Until next time…

Fort Jackson Museum Part I

Daytrips/Getaways,Reggie/Army Journey | Friday 20 January 2012 2:15 pm

“Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children.” -George W. Bush (1946- ), 43rd President of the United States.

The Fort Jackson Museum is filled with military history, and displays. I have so many photos to share, but have decided to share via two separate entries.

May we never forget the innocent lives that were lost on that horrible day in our history. May we also never forget the many lives lost by our men, and women in the military since. Fly high…
