MOnday, MOnday…

Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping,Simple Living | Monday 23 August 2010 8:39 am

Good Morning Friends! So much to do today before I head out for another round of  the night shift tonight.

Mojo Monday entered my mind this morning so I stopped over and created this card with their sketch in mind. It has been a long time since I’ve participated!

Enjoying a slice of homemade Zucchini bread that I made last night with a cup of coffee…Life is good!

Must get ready for my dentist appointment. Have a wonderful Monday, and here’s to a beautiful week ahead of us!

For the LOve of Girlfriends

A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows that you are slightly cracked- Bernard Meltzer

I tried to escape Nikki’s need to go shopping this morning by telling her I was depressed, exhausted, and had no clean clothes. Sounded like very reasonable excuses to me, but she accepted none of them and practically forced me in the car. So off we went shopping. While Nikki was having her hair done, I had a manicure. I had forgot how wonderful it is to have a manicure. Must remember to spoil myself more often…I picked Oliver up a special treat and found four new shirts for myself.

So happy to have Nikki in my life.

Another quick and easy card, with no worries of perfection, that I created tonight. I want the focal point to be on the beautiful paper, and the message that I write inside to a dear friend..

Hard to believe that tonight is the last night of my vacation. I can’t say that I have gotten a whole lot accomplished, but my exhaustion has lessened and I feel pretty good. I’ve spent some wonderful time with my husband, and have been able to sleep in, and today, was able to spend time with my best girlie…I am blessed.

Don’t leave me Sunday…

I am beginning to realize that it is the sweet, simple things in life that are the real ones after all. -Laura Ingalls Wilder

In Terri’s words here’s a look at a few of my new ch-ch-ch-changes that are also meant to challenge myself.

  • The look of my blog posts
  • Weekly tried and true recipe
  • Daily 15-minute project
  • …more stuff in the next few days

A few more photos from our trip down to Rockland and the Farnsworth Art Museum yesterday. Such a charming town!

Today we’ve been kicked back relaxing, and being lazy. Playing around on my blog, writing down ideas, things to do, watching movies, and slowly reading thru these pages, and I have to say Jo’s studio simply rocks!!

Cooking up some new foods here [seriously need to put all of these cookbooks to use], Chicken Divan, delicious!

Loving this fast, and simple card that I created tonight. I am going to attempt to ‘create’ something everyday. 15 minutes of creating ART without worries of perfection, etc.

For here I am going to run along to enjoy the remainder of this beautiful Sunday. Here’s to a beautiful week full of good stuff for each of us.

Hello VAy’kay-tion!

Everyday Life,Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping,Simple Living | Thursday 12 August 2010 8:16 pm

Yes, I am doing a huge happy dance! So excited to have 5 consecutive nights sleeping in my bed during ‘normal’ bedtime hours, and especially excited to spend time with my husband.

One thing I want to do plenty of is to…

I have been doing a lot of soul searching, and I am trying to let go of some of my ‘Type A’ characteristics, and I am seriously trying to just breathe, and relax, and enjoy each moment.

Believe it or not, but I have started working on a scrapbook project. A mini chipboard album [dog theme], sure would go much faster if I had an exacto knife that would cut easier/quicker! Ugh. Here’s a quick ‘in process’ peek. I’m still in the process of cutting the cardstock to fit the chipboard.

Well friends, the boyfriend and I are about to begin watching The Book of Eli, so I must run along. We have a great daytrip planned tomorrow, so be sure to stop in and see some great photos [I hope].

Because Somedays Are Diamonds

As I am attempting to peek into those who joined in on the Where Bloggers Create Blog Party, I came across Karen’s blog: Some Days Are Diamonds and noticed her call out for Bloggerette Sorority Sisters, and I thought I’d join in.

Here is the RUSH that I created. I am blessed to share my life with the most beautiful, strong, intelligent, and creative women that anyone could ever hope to know, so I used my girlies as my inspiration for this project…

And well, because said we had to be in the picture also, here I am holding my creation [wonder if Karen knows that I prefer to be 'behind' the camera?!]

Until later…Have a beautiful day everyone!

Welcome to my Art STudio

Blog Party,Everyday Life,Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping | Saturday 19 June 2010 12:54 am

Welcome to my little Art STudio located in Bucksport, Maine.

My Art STudio is located in our sunroom off our livingroom. The 8×12 size, and limited wall space due to its 7 windows have had some disadvantages, but I’ve grown to love, and appreciate my little space over the years.

We are in the process of putting our home on the market to move closer to my work as the 1 and 1/2 hour drive one way is becoming more difficult for me. I am not sure if I will be able to have a complete room of my own when we leave our home behind, so I am downsizing considerably, and trying to focus on what I truly need to ‘create’, and a ‘few’ items that make me ‘happy’ and have an important meaning to me.

I probably should mention in my diningroom there is an antique steamer trunk, and an antique armoire filled to the rim with more scrapbook goodies.

Well, I hope you enjoy your visit, and I hope to maybe inspire you!!

..looking into my Art STudio from the livingroom..

…my newest addition found via Craigs List, an antique Library Card Catalog Cabinet, the owner told me it is from Allenstown, PA and had been in storage for a number of years prior to his purchasing it…

…a few things that make me happy…

…a peek inside one of the drawers…

…keeping focused on our goal of visiting Paris…

…stand to hold printer and house router, 4 drawer container holds photos, and notice scrapbook rolling tote and bag in corner prepared if I have a chance to scrapbook outside of my studio…the xxl rolling tote is in the attic!…

…shelf above the stand…

…love suitcases. each filled with mini albums, stickers, paper, punches, rubberstamps, etc…

…bookcase…

…front view…

…Isabella, an antique dress form that I practically stole from an antique store [ie: I couldn't afford the price and asked the owner if the price negotiable...it sure was, and she practically gave her to me!]

…close up of Isabella…

…my worktable…

…antique jam/jelly wire rack…

…a reminder to live out loud!…

…looking from front of room…

…one last look…

And seriously, my Art STudio is NEVER this clean! My work table was so cluttered I must admit that some of the junk is still sitting on top of my diningroom table, and I have no idea what to do with it.

THings I need/want, to put the finishing touches on my Art STudio:

Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed taking a peek into my little Art STudio, and I look forward to peeking in yours…Here’s to a beautiful weekend filled with much love, and happiness…
