LOve me FRIDAY!!

Everyday Life, To-Do List | Friday 26 February 2010 9:58 pm

Hello Friends, and Happy Friday!! I didn’t think this day would arrive, but here it is to mark my last morning of waking up at 4am to work the first shift. [insert sound of angels singing]

Working on keeping that procrastination monster out of my life, and being better organized.

This weekend I have to finish my swap responsibilities, and a layout for LYM. Tons of paperwork, and work 10:45pm-7:15am shift Saturday and Sunday.

March To-Do:

  • -Purchase this chest freezer
  • -Save up a minimum of $100.00 towards The Workbox
  • -Schedule 3000 mile maintance on the car
  • -Begin reading, and finish I Will Not Die an Unlived Life
  • -Begin reading, and finish On Death and Dying
  • -Complete/Finish all paperwork necessary
  • -Update Family/Friends birthdays in my Birthday book
  • -Create Menu plan and grocery list for April to begin OAMC
  • -Begin concentrating on JKS project [it's a secret]
  • -Organize/Downsize my bedroom and closet [purchase closet bag for my sweaters, wooden hangers and skirt/pant hangers] linen closet, bathroom, spare bedroom, and Matthew’s bedroom
  • -Finish bathroom project
  • -Strip upstairs hallway wallpaper
  • -Nikki/Jenny photo

I’m thinking my list is doable and hopefully I will not have to carry anything from list over to April.

Here’s the little birthday book that I mentioned in my to-do list.

I picked it up at Joanns yesterday after work in the dollar section. I will be able to hang it on my bulletin board in my Art STudio for quick reference.

Well friends, Netflix is calling me. Until tomorrow…

LOST, Hell’s Kitchen and yummy Tarragon Chicken

Everyday Life, Recipes, Simple Living, To-Do List | Thursday 14 May 2009 6:26 pm

Funny how you bring home a puppy and the two cats who have been together for about four years now are {finally} best buds!!

JBP2009

I may be getting a little carried away with my pursuit of books to read. Here’s a look at what I have been able to pick up at Goodwill for super cheap! Of course Twilight is #1 on my list. {the top three books on the pile are for Toni}.

JBP2009

Today I was able to get a few ‘little’ things accomplished off of that to-do list. I am pecking away slowly, but surely, and hoping by the end of the month this entire house from attic to basement will be completed fully, then outside here I come.

Last summer I purchased a huge box full of Home Interior magazines that were a few years old and this morning I went thru each and everyone cutting out a number of ideas with step by step directions to build…a garden table, a pantry, a greenhouse…man, if only I could measure correctly and use a skill saw.

Kitchen is half down. #1 Priority in the morning so that room will be completed. So far we’re 1:1. 1 garbage bag for the dump, and 1 garbage bag for goodwill.

I ordered Everyday Food quite awhile ago, and was just recently able to peruse a few for some new recipes. Tonight we had a Tarragon Chicken Salad, and I have to tell you that it was delicious and have enough left overs for another meal {I LOVE leftovers!!}. Here’s a picture of my Tarragon Chicken Salad. I do want to add that the calories are pretty high– 355 calories per serving. Because I eat 1/2 of a serving typically, the calories are perfect for me, and 47.3 g of protein is an added bonus for me.

Season 5 of LOST concluded last night and all I have to say is holy effers!! I do not want to wish my life away, but dang, I will be looking forward to next season!!

Tonight is the season finale of Hell’s Kitchen. Danny and Paula are the last two, and I have to tell you, they both truly deserve to win. Not sure how I’ll continue my weeks without wondering if that will be the night that Chef Ramsay will have an embolism!! And of course, I’ve gotten pretty attached to his favorite words, “piss off” and “you cow”. Has to be a British thing. lol

Well friends, I have about 30 minutes before Chef Ramsay comes on, so in an attempt to use my time wisely, until tomorrow…

Sunday inspiration- 2 Red Bananas

Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.  -Nathaniel Hawthorne

Happy Sunday morning friends. There have been a few stray snowflakes falling this morning, and thankfully it looks like they won’t amount to much!

If you’re looking for a quick Sunday project, 2 Red Bananas has their Sunday challenge posted, here is my take. I don’t think I would have used these colors together, and I kind of like the results.
 JBP2009

That to-do list. I am keeping my to-do list for the week small and within reach again. In the next 2 weeks we have three major exams, and I need to concentrate on studying. So here’s what my to-do list is going to look like for this week:

{re}create my resume
create a cover letter
graduation invitation list
hair/eyes
schedule photos

I’m still doing searches in an attempt to plan out our vegetable garden this season and found Urban Homesteading, very inspiring!! I would love to be able to donate fresh fruits and vegetables to our local homeless shelter…and I have decided that we will plant a few extra plants specifically for that reason. If you are able to have a vegetable garden, I hope that you will consider donating some of your fresh goodies also.

Well, Sunday is moving quickly pass me, and I need to get myself motivated and moving. Two reminders:

1. Tomorrow I’ll be posting a great goodie prize that you may not want to miss out on and 2. This is the final week for Designer applications. If you are interested in being a Designer on a weekly sketch blog, there are 4 available openings. If interested send an email to me — jennyperkins AT myfairpoint DOT net Please put Sketch DT in the subject. Please specify if you are a scrapbooker or rubberstamper or both. A link to your blog and one of your  most recent creations {a card or a layout} Announcements will be made here on Saturday, March 28th. I hope you’ll share this with your friends.}

Spring Ahead

Everyday Life, Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping, To-Do List | Sunday 8 March 2009 8:18 am

JBP2009

I really like the thoughts of Spring. It has been a long, cold, and snowy winter here in Maine. I’ve been a bit grumpy, irritated, and cold and looking forward to the sun and warmth.

Looking for a quick Sunday morning challenge? Here is a card I created for 2 Red Bananas. Cute site, and the Designers did some gorgeous work with this sketch.

So it’s Sunday. Sunday is our day to  change all of the bed linens, charge cell phones, iPods, camera batteries, and create the weeks To-Do list. I have to be easy on myself this week as I have 10 hour Psych clinicals Monday thru Thursday and in the mean time of clinicals have to be able to fit in lecture responsibilities, so for this week the only thing on my To-Do list is to create my grocery shopping list to coordinate with our nightly meal plan. I have decided that I am only going to shop for two weeks worth of meals. I’ll keep you posted how it goes.

Oh, and I want to post a call out for anyone who may be interested in being a Designer on a weekly sketch blog. There are 4 available openings. If interested send an email to me — jennyperkins AT myfairpoint DOT net Please put Sketch DT in the subject. Please specify if you are a scrapbooker or rubberstamper or both. A link to your blog and one of your  most recent creations {a card or a layout} Announcements will be made here on Saturday, March 28th. I hope you’ll share this with your friends.

For here I’m going to run along, I have some serious reading to do about the Respiratory system and need to get myself prepared for tomorrows clinical. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone, and here’s to Springing Ahead!!

That To-Do List

Everyday Life, Scrapbooking & Rubberstamping, To-Do List | Tuesday 3 March 2009 6:25 pm

Ladies, I am kicking butt on my weekly to-do list. Remember I said that each week I am going to tackle a particular room in my home to do a really thorough cleaning of and I chose my art studio…well, I started in there today. I decided I would clean out the armoire first.

JBP2009

I have to be honest when I tell you I have not opened any of these paper drawers up in quite some time, and see the red suitcase at the very bottom? Well, I cannot even remember what is inside of it.

So, I pulled everything out of there, and I took a peek inside. And hello fun stuff!! I am actually embarrassed that I have so much in there that I had forgotten about, and we won’t even talk

about inside that steamer trunk!! Yeah, that’s a whole ‘nother day!

JBP2009

Well friends, it’s pretty bad in there and I need to gather a few things up so nothing tips over during the middle of the night. I have to be out the door by 8:30 tomorrow morning for a 4 hour seminar {ugh!}.

OH!! But where have I been?! Did you all read my post: an Open Letter to the Scrapbook Publications If not, take a minute, read it, and let me hear ‘your view’. Now, after you read it check out the comments, especially Caitlin Kochs’!! And if you are not aware of her site, Scrapbook News and Review swing by and look what she has to offer!! Again, I am behind the times, because I have never heard of this great site!! I am seriously impressed. And Caitlin, thank you!!

Until tomorrow–

Lazy Sundays

Everyday Life, RN Journey, To-Do List | Sunday 1 March 2009 8:38 pm

This is a typical scene in our home. Shiva hogging all of the heat by sleeping on the register, and Pyro looking out the window with wild dreams of getting loose and chasing after the birds and such.

JBP2009I have officially re-read every page of my Psych unit notes this weekend. I have come to the conclusion that I just cannot study anymore for this exam. I am ready. And I am really hoping that we will have our exam tomorrow! It is snowing, and the forecast is not looking very good at all.

I am totally inspired to create a dress form for an idea that I have in mind {if I ever do create I will

share images and my plans at that time} Equivocal Notions

Have a few minutes to spare, but need a jolt of inspiration? One Pretty Thing has a great weekend round-up!

I have Spring on the mind hugely, and have decided that each week I am going to tackle a particular room in my house and clean/scrub  top to bottom {and yeah, I suppose that will include the windows…ech}. So because I have made such a huge, huge mess in my art studio, I have decided that is where I will begin this week.

This weeks To-Do List:
-Sketch out digital invitation design & ask Sharon for assistance
-Type friends/family addresses into Word so I can easily print them out onto address labels {yeah, I’m getting clever in my old age}
-Create a running list for graduation day of things I will need/things to do {ie: dress, shoes..charge the camera battery–and MORE importantly, be sure memory card is IN the dang camera!!…}
-Matthew’s two appointments
-Mojo Monday
-Work on first unit of medications
-Unemployment responsibilities and seminar on Wednesday
-Renal Failure concepts etc
-Gift to Lisa
-Update March personal calendar and Family-fridge calendar
-Create a more personalized Grocery List and organize the coupons
-Begin working on S&J project

Here’s to a productive and wonderful week!!
