Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas. -Peg Bracken

25 Days of Christmas: Day 3- Tonight we’re watching A Christmas Story

Happy Wednesday Friends!! I hope your day was a wonderful one. Today was my LAST 12 hour clinical on the Med Surg unit at the hospital {insert the sounds of angels singing here!!} Time is ticking, and that light is getting brighter at the end of this tunnel!

Last night I worked on our Christmas pictures. As usual, my bestest girlie, Sharon came to my rescue. Sharon, I am not sure if I could live without you. I think they are per’ty cute, and most importantly was a very inexpensive option for us.

I have much to say, but it appears that the clock has sped up, and I need to get these scrubs off, pj’s on and get ready to watch A Christmas Story with my family.

Christmas gift suggestions:

To your enemy, forgiveness.
To an opponent, tolerance.
To a friend, your heart.
To a customer, service.
To all, charity.
To every child, a good example.
To yourself, respect. -Oren Arnold

25 Days of Christmas: Day 2- Photoshopping the Christmas pictures ;)

The above is what my family and I wake up to on Christmas morning. Made from scratch and absolutely delicious. Yum!!

I made a boo-boo in yesterdays post — This Christmas will be the Bamford-Perkins 9th Christmas together, not 10 as I wrote.

Last night Keith and I watched How The Grinch Stole Christmas and munched on a big bowl of popcorn. Jim Carrey is so dang funny!! {again, I’m a bit behind and last night is the first time that I had seen this movie}.

So much to do, and time is just not on my side. I need to go heat some water for a cup of coffee, throw my pj’s on and get my nose in my textbook for an hour or two. Tomorrow is my last Med Surg Clinical at the hospital. Excitement and Dread at the same time…what a horrible combination!

If you and your family are celebrating 25 days of Christmas let me know! I would love to see your daily activity.

{25 DAys of Christmas: Day 1}

When we recall Christmas past, we usually find that the simplest things - not the great occasions - give off the greatest glow of happiness. -Bob Hope

25 Days of Christmas: Day 1- My family will be watching a Christmas movie tonight.

This Christmas will be the Bamford-Perkins 10th Christmas together. I’ve been thinking a lot about Christmas, Traditions, Christmas without Keith’s dad, Pete, and Pete and Bonnie not coming to our home Christmas morning.

So, the conversation began like this-

{me to Keith} What do you think of real Christmas trees?
{Keith} Well, they are expensive, a fire hazard and the needles make a mess.
{me} Well, I really wanted a real Christmas tree this year, but now that you’ve put such a damper on it, I’ll wait till next year.

BLah, so that’ll teach me to ask for his opinion. ;) But there will definetly be a real tree next year!

Woke up to a little bit of snow this morning. I chuckled thinking that when my girlfriend, Elaine, saw it this morning she probably said, “One day closer to Spring.” Makes me laugh every time I hear her say this.

WHat a day!! I could scream. Ok, so I did scream. Went to lecture, came directly home, and Keith told me that my Professor had called and needs to speak to me. She has NOT received my final research paper. WTF! My final draft was due 11/20/08. I passed it in on 11/17/08. Thank goodness my Professor believes me and requested me to email her my paper and information and she is going to call the center and investigate as to what has taken place. I pray that I do not receive points off now as it says in our syllabus.

Keith was busy today doing some work related to moving the phone line and satellite dish re-wiring so we could move our living room around to get ready to decorate for Christmas. Looking forward to decorating!!

Well friends, this Monday is screaming past me and I have to do some reading before we watch our Christmas movie tonight. Until tomorrow..

{ARt and Antiques…}

Keith and I had a great day together {as usual}. We packed a picnic lunch and goodies and out the door we went, headed to Hallowell, Maine where Keith dropped off a few of his paintings that will be on display all week at the Harlow Gallery!

I have to tell you that this is seriously one town that I would highly consider moving to. We visited the antique stores and as always had a great time looking at all of the treasures. This following photo is from an antique store that was almost all lighting, the ceilings were covered–and look at the tin ceiling!!

And yes, we did our usual self-portrait, and again, was laughing so hard, I had a difficult time. But, I didn’t completely cut him out of the picture so all is well. This is us sitting in front of our State Capital, Augusta.

HOpe your day has been a great one. Night is closing in and I have a few things I need to get accomplish before Saturday leaves me.

Grown don’t mean nothing to a mother.  A child is a child.  They get bigger, older, but grown?  What’s that suppose to mean?  In my heart it don’t mean a thing. -Toni Morrison, Beloved, 1987

{GRateful}

As much as I love Thanksgiving, especially because of all of the wonderful memories of years past and memories of my Nannie and Grampa and Grammie and Grampa’s Thanksgiving meals and traditions, I believe I have the meaning of Thanksgiving in my heart daily all year through. Every day I think about how grateful I am for my life and my blessings. Sharing my life with my husband, my 3 beautiful and healthy children, my close friends and family…these are my true blessings…

Instead of the smell of turkey, our home will be filled with the smell of chili and cornbread today. Huh? We will be celebrating our Thanksgiving with Turkey and all of the trimmings tomorrow. I am looking forward to spending the day with my daughter and sons tomorrow. Every day life has been getting in the way of our time together lately.

I hope your Thanksgiving is full of happiness, love and great memories!!

{MY LIfe Day 3}

Blog Goodie Giveaway HERE

Had one of ‘those’ days.

Called and scheduled a haircut on my lunch break. I got duped {hmmm…how do you spell that word?}, the woman I thought was going to cut my hair didn’t, and the woman who ruined my hair the last time around is the one who got me. {insert that F-bomb here}. Well, I told her very nicely, AND more importantly, with a smile, “The last time you cut my hair, you gave me a mullet. There will be no mullet today.” Well, I don’t have a mullet, but, ….

Anyways, here’s my desk early this morning and a look outside my window beside my desk:

Need to finish a family discussion…sometimes being a momma is just plain difficult… ;) Wish I’d known how sad it is when their wings are flapping, and they are ready to fly, I would have found a way to keep them little babies ;)

{MY LIfe Day 2}

Blog Goodie Giveaway HERE

Well ladies, I am ashamed to admit that I cannot get past Day 1 of this challenge. It all started this morning when my husband woke me up asking me if I was going to work today. Huh? Now, first remember, my husband works 3rd shift and gets home alittle after 7am and I have to be at work at 7:30am. Yeah, it was 7:10am and I was as usual just getting my best sleep. Never heard that dang alarm clock go off! So, anyways, from there my day just sort of continued to roll itself into a big ball going downhill at 1000 mph! Seriously, no exaggerating here. And of course, you know that I left my camera at home so I can’t even share todays ride with you. BLeh.

So, in a nutshell, I suck, and am doubtful I’ll ever get this Week in My Life completed.

Because I’m thinking about Spring, and Paris, here’s my picture share for today…
